Yep. And decades of the same one. It's all scheme with the Pats.
Yep. And decades of the same one.
Erhardt-Perkins on offense. But what scheme is that? I'm thinking they can plug these QB's RB's and WR's in because they build the OL and DL's first? I'm just trying to figure out how they do it time and time again. Perplexing..
Unless you're suggesting that he'd be so preoccupied with looking like a tool that his mind, on a subconscious level, would be free to absorb new ideas and input regarding improving the offense. Hmmm. I like it. I think I saw that on an episode of Big Bang Theory too.
Erhardt-Perkins on offense.
Fairbanks-Bullough on defense.
Since, like, the 70's.
Sadly, Josh McDaniels tried to bring some of that Erhardt-Perkins to the Rams in 2011, but the season was so destroyed by injuries that they couldn't get anything going.
The more regular season success they have the more bitter the tears when they lose in the playoffs.Yep. And decades of the same one.
I would assume so. But it's a pretty cool offense when you break it down into nuts and bolts. More about concepts and (for lack of a better word) "snapshots" of a play that both the QB and all other players can kind of envision unfolding. From what I was able to gather from reading about it, It's not necessarily based on route trees or particular players, but is heavily reliant on the QB reading arrangements of receivers. You can more or less plug different guys into different formations and into different personnel groups - and if they all understand the concept, it gives you more flexibility. The Rams use the same principle in the run game. When you hear other coaches refer to the Rams' ground game as basically a number of set plays that they run out of a bunch of different sets and disguise with "window dressing", that's what the Erhardt-Perkins passing game is like. Nothing extravagant in terms of difficulty, but it can be very efficient when disguised and deployed out of multiple different sets and looks.IIRC, it takes awhile to get it running. Doesn't it?
The Patriots scored 27 points with a 3rd string rookie QB. He only had 103 yards passing and Blount barely had 100 yards rushing.
Somehow, they find a way to put up a bunch of points regardless of stats or crazy trick plays. It's so frustrating.
Texans are seriously disappointing me right now
B'OB arrived with much fanfare, but that guy is an overrated coach, who benefited greatly from Belichick and circumstance. He is good with QBs. Is he good with offenses? Maybe, or he just regurgitated what he learned from Belichick and McDaniel. Funny how, when Josh McDaniel came available and was hired back to the Patriots, that Bill's contract was allowed to expire. They didn't want him back in any capacity. But, because he was New England's OC (it is really Beli hicks offense) he supposedly became a hot commodity. But, no NFL team hired him. So, he accepted the PSU job and does a pretty good job of winning with a quality team full of previously recruited players. But, anyone that watched those games usually came away scratching their heads, wondering about his offensive game planning, clock management and in game adjustments. I never understood the hype. It was one of the biggest charades in sports. 'O'Brien leads PSU to wins despite sanctions'. The thing is the team was full of good players. It want until two years later, when he left, that the scholarship reductions coupled with graduation started to take it's toll.
O'Brien was severely outclassed by his old boss tonight and I am not the least bit surprised.
It's all scheme with the Pats.
"He can take his'n and beat your'n and take your'n and beat his'n."They will not lose a game all year, unbelievable that this Coach can win under any circumstances and the Rams struggle to win even when there are premiere circumstances!
Agree, in less than a week, they turn their 3rd round draft QB into winning starting QB and he doesn't look out of place at all - and seemed to have a grasp of the offense too...Its amazing how the n patriots are able to cater their offense to their qbs and still find success
They are built to exploit the current rules, not the rules from the last century like Fisher still thinks they are playing under. But what scheme is that? I'm thinking they can plug these QB's RB's and WR's in because they build the OL and DL's first? I'm just trying to figure out how they do it time and time again. Perplexing..
