I tend to think this is one of the fattest media lies among their many pro-49er fibs. A laid back guy wouldn't cross a picket line as a scab, or sue for worker's comp so the state of California paid his medical bills while he pocketed his millions, or hawk his wife's ridiculous thigh master every other sentence... I think the laid back myth was invented to hide the fact that Montana is simply a dumb human being. If you are old enough to remember his attempt to be a broadcaster, it says it all. Clearly the lights are on but nobody is home in his brain. My guess is the P.R. folks concocted the whole laid-back Joe Cool myth to cover up his stupidity.

None of the off-field stuff you mention is relevant to my point. On the field, he was not a yeller or a screamer, or for that matter a rah-rah guy. He generally projected a calm demeanor. Whether he was dumb or not is also irrelevant to his demeanor on the field. His failure as a broadcaster is also irrelevant.

And most importantly, the fact that Goff is laid back is just fine for a QB, often times it's an asset.

Don't know what's funnier, the post or that somebody liked it. Clearly the Anti Goff train is desperate.

No kidding, this is ridiculous. Talk about over analyzing every little thing. EVERY player takes time off to relax and have some fun. He's a 21 year old college kid eating a pizza and watching a game, give me a break. Do y'all know what kind of stuff goes on at colleges with the football players? Todd Gurley used to go out all the time in downtown Athens and somehow he still crushed everybody on Saturdays. The draft can't come soon enough. All the analysis and talk at this point is just nonsense.

Lol with all due respect, this is the silliest thread I can remember in recent memory. I'm 25 and I'll tell ya, I'm a career driven individual who puts in endless efforts to be successful, and I have to remind myself sometimes to lay back and enjoy the subtle things in life. Having pizza and kickin' back, what's the big deal?

I'll tell you this tho, I'm a huge gym rat and my one gripe with this is pizza as post meal?!! Cmon JARED!! Empty carbs man, stay away!!! :rolllaugh: Get this man a steak and broccoli, those protein gainz bruh!

Not that I take one article as proof of anything....but looking at Goff's body...Eyeball test says, yes, he lays around, alot, and eats stuff like pizza. Dude has a slight pouch for a 21 year-old....Not sure why ( I am sure, but this just reads better), but this makes me a lil nervous...
Almost every team I've played on, the QB always hung out, and lifted weights with the linemen...ate with the linemen...and took a lil pride in their physique. Tom Brady was the exception...not the rule. Look at EVERY other QB in this draft, that expects to be drafted....

The Goff criticisms are getting more outlandish by the day. This amuses me greatly. Nothing new round these here parts.

It turns me off personally. Based on what I've read about Wentz, he is NOT sitting around watching TV and eating PIZZA. I feel like a laid back personality, which this article seems to think is a good thing, is not a good thing in a QB. While Goff is doing this, Wentz is probably (exaggerating but not really) watching NFL film and preparing to be a winner in this league. This is just another reason I prefer Wentz to Goff. But who knows maybe Wentz is watching TV and eating PIZZA too, trying to lose his 8 pack maybe...just a thought.

First it was deflate gate, now pizza gate... Maybe, we better find out if he can cook more than noodles lol

Winning! Wait, nevermind that didn't work out well for Charlie did it.......

@ProGen I will confess to listening to voices in my head to help me make decisions

Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are two of the hardest working QBs ever and you still see pictures of them at the beach, or doing commercials, or whatever. Just because he's going to be an NFL QB doesn't mean he can't enjoy himself a little and take a break like every other QB out there. You don't have to watch film and work out every second you're not sleeping. That's just ridiculous.
Wait, Come to think of it...Peyton's play REALLY started dropping off after he started making those Papa Johns commercials......coincidence? I think NOT!!! Goff must be destined for bust town!!!

Athletes at this level are burning 10x the amount of calories we are. Read what Phelps would eat. What the media doesn't talk about is how much work these guys are putting in because our culture is so focused on immediate gratification.

I heard, through Goff's coach, that they focused on flexibility, and not weights for his program, and that was a reason why he wasn't heavier/stronger. If we draft him, we can do whatever we want, program wise. I'm really not worried about either of these guys work ethic, or leadership.

And damn, if a guy can't eat a pizza, you really should just cut his balls off too.
