Thordaddy's daughter is an amazing person as well! Apple didn't fall far from that tree.
I couldn't make the opener and was saddened by that. In addition, I was training for the NY Marathon, and was suffering from several injuries which limited my training. I reached out to her and said, "Hey, do you have a bandana or something of his I could take with me on race day? I could use the support"
What I got in return makes me well up even today...
She sent me one of his favorite hats and long sleeve t's from his beloved wrestling team, along with a bracelet for his and Lauren's walk.
Here we are finishing the race, would have never made it without him!!!

Thanks for posting this @Selassie I If you talk to her again, send her and Rich’s family my regards. It was great meeting them and spending the day with them. I really miss talking to Rich on the phone and here.

Awesome man. He sure loved coaching wrestling and his young partner Lauren. I've got a couple of his "Half Fast" shirts that he sent me. My niece has been going through brain tumor treatments and was diagnosed about the same time Rich and I started talking about getting together for a ski trip. Unfortunately that ski trip never happened. Rich touched a lot of people. He was a bright light.

Jennifer "loved reading all the posts and seeing all the familiar names".

Hearing her say that sure gave me a fantastic feeling. I'm glad this brought some happiness to her and her family.

Good stuff guys!

Thordaddy and I loved to bicker with each other. Maybe, in some small way, we were too much alike? (certainly stubborn on my part!)

My experience through all of this certainly changed the way I interact on the internet. It showed me debating a point is nowhere near as important as the person you're debating. He was a passionate fan.

I didn't know he was fighting illness and his sudden departure was very sad. I'll always miss his presence here.

His memorial will go down as one of my most cherished experiences ever. His wonderful family and friends, honoring a man who touched so many lives, meeting so many diverse and interesting ROD members, the tough win against the Seahawks with the jubilation after, visiting the field, and remembrance... unforgettable.

I wish his family well. I know I'm not alone in saying we think of you and would love to see you again.

Good to see you around my friend. Hope you're doing well.

That’s worth a bump right there.

What a novel concept; when hanging out with friends, treat them as friends.
