This is what they were saying at week 6, when the Rams hit 6-0:

I have an autographed, uncirculated copy of that issue.

At that time I was still smoking and stopped on the way home to grab a pack.

That was on the stands in plain site. I grabbed it.

It's somewhere, I know I still have it.

I have one as well. I was a subscriber to SI at that time. It's in sweet condition. It's my favorite of all Rams memorabilia since I became a fan in 1979 as a 12 year old. They are being sold on the internet if you need a little jack...lol!

Dr. Z, aka Paul Zimmerman, was in front of it and was saying the Rams were for real and Warner was the real deal. So for national guys he was. Local guys I couldn't tell you who was saying what I didn't read those guys then.

Sports media could use guys like him right now! He was GREAT.
Used to LOVE Pro Football Weekly. My dad had a subscription. The Arkush boys. Dr. Z. That was where it was at. Actual turning of pages, not this scrolling on a computer reading drivel from you clowns. For crying out loud, what has my life become?!!

I have an autographed, uncirculated copy of that issue.
You didn't say who autographed it? :hiding:

Kurt is the best ever.

It shit me no end how the narrative became he was a system qb after he was benched by the rams, then unbelievably kicked to the kerb by them. I blame the fantasy football nerds that got a voice through the internet with thousands of websites it seemed. They were relentless with their mocking of Kurt when he played for the giants and his early years with the cardinals. The nimrods. A sign of things to come unfortunately for the whole nfl.

Anyway Kurt showed them all up when he was lucky enough to have whisenhunt come to town, a match made in heaven. What he did with the cards was probably more impressive than what he did with the rams. There was no faulk to lean on and the running game was pretty much non existent his whole time from 07 to 09.

The best.

Kurt and the GSOT were the best.

Others scored more in a season, but much of that was Kurt and Co on the bench midway through the 3rd quarter because they'd already dropped a 40 burger and were up 40-17 and were playing for a championship.

If this were more like college where point differential mattered and running up the score wasn't frowned upon, I could easily see the GSOT averaging over 40ppg.

I can't imagine the numbers if Kurt and Co played pedal to the metal for 60 mins.
