Our defense has been impressive, it's pretty much living up to our high preseason expectations. What's most interesting is I don't think our sub packages are operating at the highest level just yet. They're improving week to week as Rapp settles in with more and more snaps.

Right now it looks like a unit that is not only playing well but has the potential to improve as we go forward. Very excited to see what they can do once our offense gets things rolling.

The silver lining about our loss to you guys was our defense ( even with the injuries). If we can get our offense figured out, we can win against anyone.

I'm not sure your secondary will sustain things. But your front seven is fantastic so if you can get those DBs healthy I think your defense is in for a good season.

The Rams defense is much improved IMO. We aren't getting gashed in the running game and we've not given up big plays. I believe that Fowler is better and taking advantage for AD's double teams. We do need to free up AD by having other guys step up and break down the pocket. Weddle was a HUGE upgrade over Joyner. He's like a QB on the defense and Talib is healthy so our defense is pretty stout. If the offense gets back to last year's level, I don't see any reason why the NFC title game won't be in LA.

This highlight video shows no less than 5 examples of Ram players wrapping up the legs to tackle the opponent. AD is the exception and he is strong enough to take an opponent high. Not shown is the two or three excuse me tackles number 22 made during the game. Sound fundamentals, how refreshing.

I hope the 49ers are fools gold. I know this: the 49ers have very little fulfilled talent on offense, especially at QB and WR, but for 3 years guys are flying around uncovered. SHanny is the master O Coord in the NFL (and #30 or so head coach---bad, bad leader). I suspect the 49ers can easily go 10-6 with thei offense and that D line...and may much better. You have to be unobservant to not notice that a great passrushing D line, one pro bowl level LB (FA from Bucs) one probowl Corner is enough to be a top 10 D in the NFL.

I agree about Kyle Shanahan. He was our OC back when we had Josh Gordon and Brian Hoyer.

The 49ers haven't played anyone yet (combined 1-8 record. TB, CIN and PIT without Big Ben). I honestly think Garoppolo is going to be the reason why they don't make the playoffs.

I guess we will know next Monday night! Likely to be a must win for us.
