Yes, like many of you, I have been disappointed that the offense can’t do whatever wants like years past.

On the other hand, I’m seeing a defense that can be legitimately called “SuperBowl caliber.”

Shutting down the likes of Kamara, Miachel Thomas, OBJ, laundry and Brees is no small task.

I’d like to see a little more conversation how about how good this defense is. “Offense wins fans, defense wins championships.”

This is a championship defense.

WoooOoOoo!

I agree our defense looks like it might have a great season. Donald is now surrounded by vets who know how to compliment him and the youth to fly around with him.

TBH I think our STs errors are the thing I find most concerning. I feel like the offense is a tweak or two from breaking out again.

I think special teams (punts) has a few kinks this year.

It's still early, but 4.7 yards per play allowed is an encouraging stat. Last year they were 6.0 for the season.

I couldn't agree more and I admit that I'm a bigger fan of offense.

This defense with a small sample size of 3 games has the look and feel of special.

After the 2019 regular season ends and the post season begins, I prefer a top 5 defense vs a top 5 offense.

I do expect the offense to turn the corner over the next few games but I believe hosting the Lombardi hinges on the strength of the Rams defense.

Weddle > Joyner
Rapp > Barron
Matthews > Ebukam
And Talib playing vs injured

Defense made significant offseason additions that look like brilliant moves.

We are not a suffocating defense such as last years Bears defense.

Little early to call us a Super Bowl defense:

A broken Cam Newton
Bridgewater without first team reps
A struggling Browns offense

If we shut down the niners offense in a few weeks then we will know we have a Super Bowl ready defense in my opinion.

This team feels like it went through a monkey's paw wish where we collectively hoped for significant improvement in defense only to see our offense regress. I definitely love what I see with our defense though; Wade Phillips definitely kicked that son of a bitch in during the offseason.

I'm expecting our offense to get the wrinkles later in the season.

D will be epic come the stretch run. Think of the Ravens D during their Super Bowl season. Yes, that dominant.

Never thought Clay was going to make the impact he has made. Great signing. And the jump from Joyner to Weddle is massive.

Agreed, replacing Joyner with Weddle was a huge upgrade. Fowler looks like he playing up to his potential and Talib is healthy. This is a good defense.

Does anyone know how Joyner has been playing in OAK? I haven’t watched the Raiders play yet.

I agree they are good. And they fit the cerebral label Collingsworth alluded to. However, I think they are just one more good pass rushing DL away from being potentially great.

Maybe if Gaines gets more opportunities, by the end of the year he could provide that bull rush up the middle that could push the pocket and make Donald's life easier.

I felt the Rams D was going to be better than the offense - at least out of the gate to start this season.

A veteran like Weddle is a huge deal to this defense.

He's so cerebral and you can see it.

He's an incredible influence for guys like John Johnson, Marcus Peters, Taylor Rapp, Cory Littleton (who is playing lights out!)

The last 2 games have been good, but McCaffery ran through us like water.
Yeah but McCaffrey wasn't running thru us until Weddle went out.

Except for one drive, McCaffrey hadn't done much to that point.

Christian is a huge weak link when Weddle goes out.

So, are you suggesting that the niners are now the measuring stick for juggernaut offenses?
