If that line played together, opposition quarterbacks would be phoning in sick the day the Rams are on the schedule.
Quarterbacks? There would be offensive linemen coming down with back spasms on the morning of the game. Quarterbacks in the huddle...."21 dive and don't trip before I give you the ball because I'll lay it on your back!!"

Yeah after the #1 Rams the other teams would be:

Vikings - Eller, Page, Randle, Marshall... and I agree the others mentioned could be subbed in too.
Cowboys: Too Tall, Lilly, White, Martin... Haley can sub in
Steelers - Greenwood, Greene, Stautner, White

No other great front 4 comes close to these top 4 of Rams, Vikes, Cowboys, Steelers

The 3/4 vs 4/3 alignments adds complexity. I know Steelers play a 3/4 now but I see TJ Watt as much more of a DE than OLB so that adds to the Steelers best front 4 in my pee brain.

An Ernie Stautner reference ... BRAVO!

I was tempted to add TJ too but he's strictly an OLB like Kevin Greene was and then Demarcus Ware with Cowboys. As much as I like TJ he may not even crack the starting LBs with Ham, Lambert, Russell and this is all strictly 4-3 where we call our best front 4s. Tj gonna be in there somehow for all time Steeler defense for sure.

Thanks I did a lot of all-time teams for Madden 10 years ago and did much research. Holmes can sub in for sure. He was the mean guy on the line who would talk shit to the OL and back it up so he had the intimidation factor for sure. Not enough all pro votes though. Odd man out from the more popular starters.

Yeah, the OP (@Loyal can be a trouble-maker) had an all-time Rams' D-Line.

Then a couple posters mentioned teams (Cowboys, Vikings, Steelers) and I thought they were moving the topic to D-Line units that played together. That's when I posted on specific foursomes from the Rams, and each of those teams.

It's kind of two different topics. For example, the 1985 Bears' D-Line was great, with Hampton, Dent and McMichael all terrific players. Refrigerator Perry was OK but as much a novelty and personality as a quality DT. Now if you slide Dan Hampton to DT (where he played a lot and was outstanding), then you could add old-time-Bear Doug Atkins at DE ... that would be an amazing D-Line.

Surprised no one mentioned the Reggie White, Jerome Brown, Clyde Simmons Eagles, with Mike Golic and Mike Pitts splitting the other DT spot. Another tremendous Line.

Grier was awesome though I had Brooks as DT sub but there's 2 spots. Argument could be made, though Grier makes Giants top DT starter most likely. Bacon in there somewhere for us as sub though he made his QB crunches as DE mostly, he did play some early DT. You could even make the arguments that Rams have the deepest top front 4 etc DL subs too... maybe Vikes 2nd?

As for the 4-3 and 3-4 stuff, yeah Donald plays DE in kind of a 3-4 and moves around, but we all know he'll be his all time self as a 4-3 DT.

Yeah he was talking about Tooz there on his brief TC Redskins tryout in 1976.

Point received. Yep all time mix or actual DL I can get with either.

I get the Hampton move since he played some monstrous DT too. Like you could slide him to DT and put Doug Atkins at end. Think that's what I did for Madden.

Eagles yeah that DL was dominant. I subbed in Bucko Kilroy for the Golic/Pitts combo for the all-time.
