Okay...

We grind our own coffee beans for our morning coffee. My wife does this daily. Me; only on the weekends.

Today, she notices some lighter coloured flakes in the grind. This can be seen in some beans depending the roast. I've seen it thousands of times.

She proceeds to tell me the coffee must have a filler in it. When I joked and said "it's saw dust" she responds "very funny. I'm pretty sure it's corn".

She was serious.

I didn't even respond because I couldn't say anything that would complimentary to her intelligence.

This might not be a funny story to you, but I am shaking my head and laughing on the inside.

Your stories?

Mine is borderline OCD with cleaning and putting things away. It's fantastic that our place and vehicles are crystal ball clean all the time, but there actually are some drawbacks.

If I leave something like my keys or phone on the counter because I'm about to head out somewhere, but make a quick pitstop in the bathroom before leaving... by the time I'm finished taking a piss my shit will be gone. It's maddening. Shit will be put away somewhere within seconds. I have a small wooden box out in the garage where I keep things that she is not allowed to touch or move... I had to have a "safe haven" somewhere in the house.

She vacuums the carpeted areas of our place multiple times per day. To get her back for constantly putting my shit away so fast... I always make footprints through her vacuum lines on the carpet as soon as she leaves the room. I literally dance around on the carpet laughing when I'm doing this... and many times I don't even wait for her to leave the room when I do this. LOL

my wife is the complete opposite. She has stuff piled on every surface imaginable. Drawers stuffed with papers so they wont close, books piled on top of books.Arts and Crafts stuff everywhere I look. One of the biggest jokes is last summer she took out a book from the library about "How to unclutter your life" and she was late returning it because she couldnt find it anywhere. She never even took it out of her car !!!

One of my biggest complaints is she never wraps up the cord of the vacuum cleaner, just sticks it in the corner out of her way (and usually in mine)

My wife is the exact opposite of that, while I'm borderline OCD. I follow her around the house cleaning up after her. She's a great cook but afterwards the kitchen looks like a mini-tornado hit it. She constantly drinks coffee and for some reason she needs a different cup each time, so there are empty coffee cups left all over the house.

Luckily for both of us she lives out of town during the week due to the location of her job and we only do this dance on the weekend. I'm sure it's sustained our marriage.

My wife is what I call a "piler," as in stacking all kinds of books (crafts of all kinds: painting, beading, etc.), clothing, knick knacks. Even to the point where she's stacking things in my places. She hasn't unstacked her bedside book shelf since 2007. Her dresser is stacked high with clothes (2 feet worth), and she can't get into the drawers below because the floor is where she stashes her dirty clothes. She's now using my dresser for her arts and crafts. I rarely go into the master bathroom, except to pee. The counter in there is stacked with her bras. The kitchen table until recently was stacked with her coats, rather than putting them away in the entry way closet. She has a desk in the kitchen as well, which hasn't been cleared since 2012. The only thing that has saved me from complete disorder is that she got a Kindle in 2010.

She gets it from her mother, who spent 7 years with us ('92-'99). Her room was almost hoarderish.

What really gets me is that she berates me and my son for leaving things "laying around."

She loves a fool like me; But, on the complaint side I can't stand when someone tells me how to do something I have done for 10+ years

My wife, especially while watching sports, will talk over the TV to ask what something means or what happened as the person on TV is explaining it. Drives me batshit crazy.

I suppose it's good that I really had to think about it. We've been married for over 27 years and I would think there would be some things that really stick out.

The first thing I thought of was my wife's memory. It's awful. I am constantly reminding her of things. Of course after thinking about that, it's not always such a bad thing. I get away with plenty due to that memory of hers. And she just rolls with it. She knows how bad her memory is so it has become more of a standing joke.

But what I think really makes me scratch my head is her tendency for OCD - but only for short periods of time and it changes at the drop of a hat. It may be Chris Cornell for example and she goes out and buys everything the guy did and that is all she will listen to. Then it was Eddy Vedder. Thankfully, several years ago her Terrance Trent Darby stage was very short lived for obvious reasons.

Last year I bought her an I-pad for Christmas. I had no idea how many temporary obsessive compulsive things you can do on one device. Thank you Apple.

The only time my wife wants to "talk" or have date night is on Monday and Thursday nights. She knows I have to DVR the Rams games as I spend as much time with the kids as possible, but do you think she can just let me watch a game in peace regardless of who is playing. I don't have time and do not watch football on Sunday all day and night, so is it too much to ask for a night to catch up on some football lol

Hey,,, watch what you say about my DeLand High School brother Terrance Trent Darby. He and his little bro were good friends of mine back in those days. Terrance was a boxer too btw. LOL

I'm almost positive that the very last vinyl record I ever purchased was his. The one with the song Wishing Well on it. There were several others on that album that I really liked too. Terrance went on to have way more success in Europe than he did here in the States after that album.

I'm not gonna lie,,, I still like his stuff. I should post a few of his songs in the Song of the Day Thread in fact. Becky is clearly the better judge of artistic talent from what I'm seeing here. Hahahaha

My wife has a lot of funny quirks but the most amazing one is that she loves the likes of me.
