I'll give you something you can weigh.

Okay guys, you got me.. no one has ever mentioned Hardy being on the light side and his weight wasn’t listed anywhere as 235 before the draft.

I’m just making shit up for fun.

It's unlikely he'd pick up 13 pounds of muscle in 8 months but not unheard of in picking up a little mass along with muscle.
There is virtually no way of looking at him and judging his current weight. Unless of course you're a Carney.

I, for example, look at him and think he looks at least 250. The thighs on the dude...But I'm probably wrong.

Regardless, he can either play or not. He can either build muscle while keeping his speed and twitchiness or not.

But when he impresses people that have actually seen him practice, I'm liking it and consider that at least a positive sign.

Hardy is light for an edge rusher. But the perfect size for a linebacker. He's listed as an OLB in the 3-4. Which usually puts him on the line with the other linemen. Not sure how that would work. If he could learn the middle and a cover guy that might work in his favor.

But quickness can be an advantage. I was nowhere near as skilled as these offensive linemen. I was a blocking tight end in high school with a team that ran a lot. One game I had a few occasions to block this guy who was half my size. That little sucker was so quick I had a hard time getting my hands and body on him. I hated blocking guys like that. Maybe Hardy is quick enough to get around slower linemen?

When it comes to rookies I will take a wait & see approach. Preseason Games loom on the horizon let's see if Hardy is up to the task. I'm glad he can jump out of a pool, now let me see him jump into it!

He's played edge and that seems to be where he's heading.
I think he needs to be at least 240, legitimately, to be able to move the needle at all. I was going through last year's leading sack guys.. there were none under 240 and only a couple of that weight.

But players can put on weight.. good weight.. at the NFL level.

Yeah I'm the same. He looks well built to me. Kind of a ILB build almost.

Contrast him with Garrett who was more in need I think of a pro training regimen. Both those guys did well at lower level of competition but the difference is Hardy is a bit of a freak physically.

I'm guessing Floyd, Hollins, and Lewis will make up the bulk of the starting rotation through camp and will likely sit for preseason games so Hardy and Garrett should get plenty of snaps these three games. If they can put together good tape against other teams backups and cuts I'll start believing. Garrett flashed briefly last year in preseason and then disappeared with COVID. So looking for a strong preseason from both.

Looking forward to having this guy back, usually fools gold to expect much from rookies (especially 7th round picks) but we could use some luck somewhere this season. Hopefully he can come in and at least be a solid rotational piece by end of season. Plus, sounds like a good kid to root for.

Guessing Tak McKinley's days are numbered after his sideline display the other night. So when Hardy is activated that should be it for him.

I was thinking the same. Coaches can’t be happy the first his name was called as a Ram was fighting on our own sideline.
