Love the Verse pick and the relationship between his coach at Albany with Donald when at Pittsburgh.
I can't help but think how this D Line will look and how it would look with AD there.

So, lol, any chance AD watched the draft and said damn I would love to strap it on with this kid? And by the end of the draft he is saying damn this team looks like it can win again and I always wanted that second ring?

I thought the same thing, bro. Wishful thinking is probably the better way to put it...

Well AD’s stated reasoning was training, camp, etc. He didn’t say he didn’t want to play anymore, so as the season goes on, who knows?

AD also said he’s “fulfilled” and doesn’t have the same love to play the game anymore. It’s in his interview with his wife.

I think people are getting their hopes up. AD seems at peace with his decision
Yeah but I'm not at peace with his decision and that's what matters. We didn't need another Jim Brown/Barry Sanders scenario when we are trying to make a few more runs. AD needs to rethink this by September lol.

Oh I’m in agreement. I think it would be unfair for offenses if he came back. I just think we need to temper our expectations. He wanted to retire after year 8 but gave us two extra years.

Honestly I think AD took offense to others getting paid more than him and not being his caliber and the path leading up to the season and even first part of season is unwanted for him.

I honestly think there is some type of plan in place to bring him in on a playoff run kind of like Weddle and I think he’d be open to that tbh.

Based on everything that Aaron Donald has said himself since he retired, I’m gonna have to disagree with that reasoning. I don’t think money had anything to do with it

And when he was going to retire beforehand as stated by him after the SB win, what kept him playing!? What changed his mind? That’s right, a huge ass contract upgrade.

Well, I don't think AD has officially retired with the league, so never say never.

I don't think it was money or some kind of ploy to get out of training camp. I believe him when he says he felt like he accomplished everything he wanted to and now he's ready to move on to the next stage of his life where he's not putting his health at risk.

I'm not getting my hopes up and I wish him well in his retirement.

While a guy like AD will likely stay in shape long after his playing days, he may also drop a lot of weight. It would not shock me if, by the time the season rolls around, he's down to 240 or less (he recently said he played most of his career at around 260!).

As much as I'd love to have another year of watching AD wreck OLs, I don't think it will happen.

Right now I think it's about a 40% chance AD comes back in time for playoffs this year.

If the Rams are gonna be good like we all hope and expect, it's gonna be awfully tempting to come back for one final stretch run.

Well yeah, it’s spring weather outside and the birds are chirping. Flowers are blooming. AD is probably on a boat somewhere hauling in some blue fin, sippin some juice.

Wait until late summer and our guys strap the pads on and the snot bubbles come out during training camp…and AD is observing from afar….

Well, JB kind of hinted at it on today’s preview……

These picks are obviously about stabilizing the D-Line, but they are also about luring AD99 out of retirement. He could be exclusively a one or two down pass rusher with these new adds, and stay fresh.

Check this five man front - Verse, Turner, Donald, Fiske, Young .... !!

I understand wanting to have AD back...but the man's earned his retirement. Whatever happens won't change things.

Well, he also said that he was tired of facing double and triple teams every play.
