Seahag fans overtook the 49er fans for the most delusional. They seem to think Darnold is one of the best. He's better than he used to be but he's not top ten. They wanted him to be a game manager in the playoffs and let the defense win it. He had a good game against our putrid secondary. But the other 3 were more journeyman like performances while special teams and defense did their thing.

I'm pretty sure the defense is gonna take a step back this year. They lost several starters. And is the hunger still there after winning it all? That is a hard thing to maintain when you've already won. They gonna have to rely more on Darnold. I just don't see him being up to the task for a whole season.

49ers are always the team I hate most. But the Seahawks are inching closer for me.

I hate the Seahawks 12th man bs but for some reason not the team.
I hate anything to do with the 69ers (current players, ex- players, coaches, front office, fans, stadium, uniforms, etc ).

I hate them both.

Concerning Darnold, he's good but it's the team that makes him better. Particularly, it was the defense that saved him last year and in 2024. The Vikings led the NFL in takeaways (33; tied with Pittsburgh). Last year Seattle was 6th in takeaways (25). Their defense is still going to be good IMO, but will the takeaways be plentiful? Darnold is going to give it away because he's a turnover machine.

In years when he's started at least 10 games (6), he's got 78 picks and 21 fumbles lost. That's 99 turnovers in 84 games. Last year he had the second most picks (14) and the most fumbles lost (6) in his career. Many QBs splits won't look good when they're trailing and Darnold is no different.

Last year in the first half of games he had a 108.0 QB rating. In the second half it was 89.1. He had 4 picks in the first half and 10 in the second half. When he's tied or trailing it's worse.
Tied < 2 min >>>> 24.4
Tied < 4 min >>>> 67.1
Trailing < 2 min >>>> 85.2
Trailing < 4 min >>>> 81.0

Compare that to a great QB like Stafford. 1st half 98.6 (normal temp :laugh4:). 2nd half 120.5.
Tied < 2 min >>>> 125.0
Tied < 4 min >>>> 118.3
Trailing < 2 min >>>> 41.1
Trailing < 4 min >>>> 93.5

The formula for Darnold's success? Don't try to do a lot.
In his first postseason game last year, he threw 17 passes for 124 yards and a TD; 0 turnovers. Defense had 3 takeaways.
In the Superbowl he was 19 of 38 for 202 yards and a TD; 0 turnovers. Defense had 3 takeaways.
He had a great game vs the Rams. Got to give him credit for that. In 2 regular season games vs the Rams he had 6 picks. We'll see if his defense is going to be able to bail him out this year.

I think they know they got in last year in large part due to our defensive failures, especially on the back end and now they are worried because we have improved both the front and and the back end. Darnold is going to shit himself and revert to form the next time we play them.
I'll bet Darnold prayed to not have to face Jared Verse 2 times a year ever again. And we all know, God has a sense of humor and answered that prayer with the Myles Garrett trade.

I felt the same until I started encountering them on social media recently. They've become insufferable. A lot of them aren't happy the Rams rightfully get so much more attention and are more highly regarded.

Yeah, they also complain about east coast bias. Although to be fair, we've complained about that too in the past. Not lately anymore. Rams are among the elite with an elite quarterback, elite coach, elite GM who marches to the beat of his own drum.

Everyone thought he was crazy trading away picks most the time. Yet, here we are with another elite team. Again. 9 seasons with McVay. One injury riddled losing season. 7 playoff appearances. Ten playoff wins. A Superbowl championship and primed for another. Rams are getting the same attention east coast teams do.

Did the Hags do anything this offseason to improve? Sure they drafted some guys, but everyone did. They lost some key players and the Rams added 2 All Pro level guys to their D. Praise deserved.

The Seahawks lost 1 starter, Coby Bryant. Other guys lost include Boye Mafe (his sack numbers dropped each of the last 2 years...9 to 6 to 2), Tariq Woolen (who lost his starting job) and Kenneth Walker (that one could hurt the most). They really didn't lose a lot.

They signed 1 starter, Dante Fowler. Other newcomers include Noah Igbinoghene (CB), D'Anthony Bell S (0 GP in 2025), Rodney Thomas CB (0 starts in 2025). They certainly didn't gain a lot.

We know what the Rams did and anytime you bring on talent like Garrett, McDuffie and Watson, you're gonna get a lot of ink. Besides the ink, they're going to help your defense significantly. So why all the whining coming out of the Northwest? Perhaps they can read between the lines and they really don't like what they see? What do you get when you pressure Sam Darnold and cover his receivers? A lot of interceptions!!!!

I am neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, and I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in years but I would not be surprised to see that last season was peak-Darnold.
He was so so against the 49ers and Patriots. But he didn't have to be good because the defense and special teams took over those games. He was good against the Rams. But they mighta had the worst corner room in the league. With McDuffie and Watson that will change. And the times Verse almost got to him, I gotta think Garrett will get to him a tad sooner.

I think you may be correct.

He was 31-7 the last two years!!! But he had two great defenses on the other side of the ball.

However, the Rams put up almost 30 PPG (28.4) in 5 games vs those great defenses. What's gonna happen when they put up a great defense vs Darnold, coupled with that offense?

Fowler was healthy last year and started 11 games. He was apparently healthy and started 7 the year before that and a total of 6 games the three years before that. It's not like Dallas didn't need pass rush help last year after losing Parsons. But he managed all of 3 sacks and 10 solo tackles in 17 games. He's coming into his 11th season. So what exactly is going to be his role with the Shecocks and how is he a starter? AD got Fowler a paycheck with ATL that he was never able to live up to. Now he's getting a 1 yr $2.5 mil deal with the Shecocks to be what exactly? I sure hope it's a starting role.

I didn't say "quality starter"!! :laugh4:

Yeah, last year Dallas was tied for 22nd in sacks (35) and Fowler only had 3. The previous season Washington was #11 (43) and Fowler led them with 10.5. We'll see what he does in Seattle. He'll be 32 prior to the start of the season, which isn't old but clearly, the Seahawks don't expect a lot (1 yr for 2.5 mil).

I think Walker is the most undervalued player they had. They didn’t even put up much of a fight for him. I think he was an upper level starter for them and I’m convinced that he was a big reason that offense worked so well. I’m also not super convinced that Charb is going to be able to be “the guy.” We will see I guess
