So they continue to copy the Rams model, only failing in the most important aspect—winning a title.
They were 6 and 11 with those players, no way they sniff 9 wins with this roster. Aiyuk will be gone as soon as someone takes that salary off of them for a bad of peanuts. I'll be shocked if CMC ISNT put on the trade block soon. Not sure what he fetches with that contract, but again a bag of peanuts and they start anew without paying an absurd amount of money for a RB who is clearly breaking down. They already have 12 draft picks, they would be wise to clear all their books and load up more picks, both this year and next. Trent Williams will be dealt at the trade deadline to some playoff team who loses their left tackle. But at least they can rebuild around Brock Purdy. I fucking love it when the mighty fall, just wouldn't expect them to be down for long. They do draft and develop very well, Trey Lance withstanding.I dunno. Maybe they won't be as bad as last year. But it sure looks to me like the Superbowl window is closed. They lost Deebo, Hufanga, Ward, Hargrave, Collins and Juszczyk. They signed backups at TE, RB and S. Aiyuk is on the trade block. If they keep him who knows how he's gonna come back from a major knee injury. He wasn't very good before the injury. Perhaps the holdout hurt his training?
I think at best they'll be a borderline .500 type team. The one thing in their favor is they have a last place schedule. Thats 3 games where they play last place teams while we play first place teams from those divisions. I still think they'll struggle to win 9 games. Purdy showed he only excels when things around him are good. And they won't be as good as they were before last year.
Crazy thought- but can’t the Giants say sign Brock Purdy? Isn’t he a Free Agent ?? If there team is structured right to F” the niners. You said it! Just think of how things would have likely played out had the 9ers not got lucky with a 7th round pick.
They would have been desperate in their pursuit of a QB, wasting a couple good years of talent, lost a couple prima donnas to FA (because of the losing and shelling out $$ to FA QBs) and finally, lynch would have been fired—possibly shannahan too.
no..he is on last year of rookie contractCrazy thought- but can’t the Giants say sign Brock Purdy? Isn’t he a Free Agent ?? If there team is structured right to F” the niners.
CMC might not want to play much longer. There offense could be good. They were 6 and 11 with those players, no way they sniff 9 wins with this roster. He's got one more year. He's just eligible for an extension now.Crazy thought- but can’t the Giants say sign Brock Purdy? Isn’t he a Free Agent ?? If there team is structured right to F” the niners.
-Not sure it could happen, but this could get interesting.IMO he doesn’t hold out,but man he could play his hand out. Then again the niners could try to play him dirty.
They got away with 4 seasons of under pay him less than any starting QB.

Unfortunately, with the Kupp release, the Rams are approaching $50M in Dead-$
That would be the 6th highest amount in the NFL, at the moment.
Yeah, according to Spotrac we were at 22 mil and change before the Kupp dead money. Puts us around 45 mil now. OTC has us at 25 mil and change. That would put us at 47 mil and change. Good for 6th highest like you said. The top two in dead money are our division rivals SF and Seattle. SF might suck this year. Seattle downgraded at QB and WR. They won't have a lot of cap money to improve this year. The division is there for the taking.Unfortunately, with the Kupp release, the Rams are approaching $50M in Dead-$

Fuck the dead cap, we are actually rebuilding on the fly without a teardown. Best damn rebuild ever. However, not sure yet like everybody else what happens after Stafford. Can we expect another Stafford available thru trade?
The Post-June designation for Kupp's release will reduce the Rams' 2025 Dead-$ by about $7.5M.Yeah, according to Spotrac we were at 22 mil and change before the Kupp dead money. Who's right? There's only one way to settle it!The Post-June designation for Kupp's release will reduce the Rams' 2025 Dead-$ by about $7.5M.
So not quite as bad for this year. But Dead-$ does not disappear. That $7.5 will be on the books for 2026.
Also, the current difference in Dead-$ between OTC's $25M and Spotrac's $22M is because the two sites disagree on Jonah Jackson's Dead-$. OTC has it at $5.6M, while Spotrac has half that amount ($2.8M).
