He'll get a deal.

Seems like the Saints have been troubled with money for some time.

Certainly always struggling to keep those receivers.

I hope the saints pay him $22m per year. Then when Brees retires after this year and they can’t afford another decent WR it puts Payton in deeper doo doo .

Loomis and co are historically known for kicking the can down the road when it comes to contracts. It’ll eventually catch up to them, as it will with the Eagles!

This guy is still making noise? Aren't the 'Aints due to play us again this season? If Aqib is healthy, Thomas will be a non-factor again. It would be sweet if Marcus Peters shuts him down or our very own rookie "Long Island" keeps him under wraps all game long. And all this after Thomas gets his expected megabucks contract.

He probably spent all the money from his previous contract on cellphones.

Poor kid he can hardly support himself on $1M / year. I think it should be an NFL rule that all prospective rookies need to work at Mickey D's for 2 years before entering the draft. They need to learn to ask "will that be a combo?" A little humility never hurt anyone. He's too busy worrying about what everyone else is making. That's right Loomis hold your ground! :yess:

He is a good player, and tough....but he was shut down in the NFCC because he isn't so talented, more just a hard working and very, very tough player....Saints WR core is not so good; Brees looked bad his last 6 weeks or so. Won't be surprised to see the Saitns come down quite a bit on offense (and Rams, too, but not as far)

.

It was reported the saints offered him $18m+ but he wants over $20m per season.

Lord help the rams when kupp has to be extended. Plus I don't see woods being a happy camper after this season.

Maybe his Buddy Kamara can join Thomas in a holdout.

Kamara getting punked only making 1M a year.

This is a beautiful thing. Stains have ~$12M available, Thomas is currently a $1.6M hit (meaning they should be able to sign him now for close to $14M), BUT the top wideout market that used to see guys around $16M just saw Beckham get inked for $18M.

Decisions decisions. (y)

Things are getting tough for the Ain'ts. Brees is 40 with a fading arm and in the last year of his contract. Giving Thomas a $20 M+ deal with no QB replacement is like throwing money away. Things are closing in on the Saints with Kamara next up for a big deal. Oh well.....

That $20M/yr sounds like uncle Keyshawn whispering in his ear. He's good but he exploits smaller CBs. He's fast for a man his size but not in terms of pure speed. If he was 5'11" running 4.57 he would considered average in terms of long speed. Vincent Jackson was 6'5", with better verticle tests, similar agility, 241 lbs and ran a 4.6 to put things into perspective. With 3 years experience and wants to be the highest paid WR? He's no Antonio Brown....far from it. Considering how he could just as easily flame out after a year or so of getting the contract, Loomis would be foolish.

Give him a reasonable base with $20M type incentives. If he plays up to that level he gets paid, if not he doesn't. I think all contract should be that way, i.e. put your performance where your mouth is. If he wants to be the highest paid then he should play like he's the best WR in the NFL. Attitudes like this so early in his career is a huge red flag.
