Run that zone blocking scheme and let the back find a hole.
And I guess that's one reason I should be optimistic about Shelton.. He seems to be built for that kind of run scheme. I just REALLY worry about him versus guys like Armstead and Kinlaw rushing the passer.

I think that is one of the huge adjustment from college to the NFL.
An inside D lineman that is bigger, stronger AND quicker that players faced in college.
Shelton has the size so it all comes down to technique.....which is always a work in progress.
Bruss is a good fit to zone scheme running game as well.

I don’t know about the size.. based on what I saw and camp reports. I can’t remember if you attended camp, but others mentioned him being noticeably undersized.
But he’s about the same as Blythe.

There is not much to discuss really.

If the offensive line is able to run block we will have a good run game. If not then we won't.

Play 12 personnel and run inside and outside zone blocking. Enough of this power blocking without a lead blocker.

Shelton lists at 6' 4" while Blythe was listed at 6' 2".
Shelton is also listed at 299 lbs, but, as I always point out those are rarely updated.
Im sure he is closer to 315 now.

Who's the best RB on the roster right now? It may just be Williams

The Rams are Super Bowl Champs! The Oline hasn't played yet and the running game hasn't run yet...so how about we wait until Thursday???

We can use the same logic with weight with other players and their listed numbers.

I'm just going on what I've seen and what others have seen.

Again.. Rams were successful with Blythe, who was very similar, so I'm choosing to be hopeful.

Funny thing is The Rams RB’s do more than run the ball . Akers as a blocker Reeked pretty bad though.
This is why Sony kept getting playing time.
He saved many big plays during the play off run with his pass blocking.

Shelton played pretty well last year when he was forced into action.
He seems to have taken the same route as Allen, minus the serious injury.
Corbett was solid.....occasional really good plays.....occasional plays where he was beaten badly.
I actually expect Shelton to be an improvement over Corbett.

Um... didn't Sony get playing time because Akers was on IR most of the year (and Henderson missed several games as well)?

I'll be most curious who becomes our lead blocker, ... will it be Skowronek, will Roger Carter be moved up to the 53 and take on the Mundt role, will the Rams once again employ a 'jumbo' 6'th offensive lineman, or will we rely on our OL to spring a hole in the opposing DL ?

In 11 it will probably be Skow lead blocking. Unless Tutu is in there for him in which case it will be someone else. :laugh3:

Buffalo has same DC (Frazier) and a lot of the same def players from 2020, and Hendo ran all over them then. Would love to see more of the same on Thursday.

Jet sweep with Woods also worked effectively a few times back in that game. Could see Tutu running it too.
