5 months removed from an achilles tear makes me uneasy honestly. This guy is barely 22 years old and is our future and long term solution at RB. I get the urgency this year to win, but man I would be so devastated if he got hurt again, or rushing back lead him to get some other sort of lower body injury. Sony is running like a beast right now, and we have Henderson back healthy, and didn't we just activate Jake Funk too??

I get Cam is a freak athlete and technology now days is incredible with training and recovery plans. And if he truly is healed then I'm ecstatic he's back so soon for sure. But I just cant ever in my life remember an athlete returning from an Achilles tear in 5 months. Never seen it in football or basketball. Especially at a position which requires you to be explosive on every play like RB, WR, or CB.
I’m with yah on this line of thinking. Get him in practice and keep him as a reserve, only use him in case of injury to Michel or Henderson.

Last year it took him several games to get up to speed. What is the chance he can do that over the next three games?

If it's 21 days to get him onboard, they did it just for availability in the playoffs. Probably just going to ease in for the remainder of the season.

Awesome news. Akers is the guy. Hope he can get in a few carries. Keep riding the #1 Sony train though. Hendo is the offspeed pitch guy behind both of them if i'm running things.

This is huge. Michel and Hendo are fine backs. I love the way Sony has been running as of late and Hendo is a nice compliment to that style for sure.......

..... But, and this is just my opinion. Cam is FAR AND AWAY the best RB on this roster when HEALTHY. Again, no slight at either of our current starters, that is just how good I think Akers was at the end of last season.

If he is 90% or better, than let him play. Superbowl windows of any length are so hard to come by in this league. You HAVE to use your best options when they are available (obvy). The team has made it clear that they are all in. That should include our best RB since Marshall mother fucking Faulk.

If he comes in and contributes in the playoffs that would be resetting the bar on Achilles injuries.

Our staff of team physicians and consultants are much closer and likely far more informed on this matter. This is good news on all front and I have confidence all the parties that are involved in Cam's return will guide him through this in a proper manner.

Yeah, the last thing I want to see, is him being rushed back and aggravating the injury.

Yeah, It is obvious we have foregone the attempt to advance the ball to simply safely field the punt and begin the possession. CK10 pretty much insures this result.

I'm loving how Michel has been playing, but a health Akers is Michel plus the ability to shake free and go to the house. Neither Michel nor Hendo really have that extra step that can get you a long TD run. Akers had it, and hope he still does.

If docs clear him and he looks good in practice, play him. No need to ease nothing. docs wouldn’t approve if he wasn’t ready.

Yes our special teams have improved and I am down with fair catching everything and have MG boot every kickoff through the back of the endzone like we have been doing the last few games.

Could there be a cosmic force to right a wrong from when we made the Superbowl. On that run Gurley got hurt and just was done yes we had CJ but not the same now to undo that vudu we get our "Todd Gurley" back healthy for our playoff run and he hasn't endured any ware and tare so he fresh as a daisy. Maybe it's all going to balance the scales. Thinking positive here and being hopeful!!! Lol

It’s pretty simple for me.

If Ram doctors and trainers say he’s a go, then let him play. Baby steps at first, of course, but if he looks and feels good then gradually feed him more and more.

A few snaps here and there in these next 3 games will show them where he’s at. After all the unbelievable work he must have put in for the past 5 months? It would be criminal not to let him test himself in live action.

C’mon…
