The Packers certainly exposed us and left plenty of clues for a ‘fix it’ list...

I'm not sure the team needed any clues.

Going into this season, I thought they needed 4 O-linemen, new tight ends, 2 ILB's, maybe a running back, and a ton of special teams turnover.

Going into next season, I think they need 4 O-linemen, new tight ends, 2 ILB's, and a ton of special teams turnover.

There was never any great mystery here. They were super aggressive trying to get a Super Bowl before moving into SoFi so they could drive season ticket sales (still haven't sold out of those, btw, buddy of mine gets emailed about once a month asking if he wants to buy some), gave up a metric ton of draft capital in overpaying and taking the wrong side of trades, were handing out extensions like candy years before they had to, and ended up not only blowing the team up a bit, but leaving gaping holes all over the team because of how much they surrendered for a couple of big names (which usually didn't pan out). Had McVay not gotten into his own head trying to figure out how to prove he was smarter than Belichek, it would have worked. Now there's a mess to clean up and not a lot of ways to do it.

Hopefully they focus on the right things with what little draft capital they do have - and then, of course, their darts thrown at the wall continue to pan out for them.

I having had a bit of time to reflect they did do some damage but if you really watch it over we made a shit ton of errors. That everyone on this board mentioned at some point.
1. We left to much time for them and Rodgers before the half.
2. We had a chance to pick him off twice no points for them and we held.
3. We had a quarterback who was not 100% at all and was still efficient when he got the chance.
4. No Kupp
5. We held them two times in a row down by seven with all of the above having occurred.
6. And the most important we hung around gave ourselves a chance against a prolific offense on there home field without arguably one of the best defenders of all time.
7. With all that down by seven that fumble a lucky bounce our way and game changes. Same with the 4th and 1 false start it was crucial but those are more football god's and more what it's the other stuff is more reality than should of could of.

i don't say this type of stuff often but I think even with Goff not 100% if AD would have been healthy we could have or would have won and Rodgers couldn't do the slide step all day and find his targets so easily.

Yes there were some coaching blunders on our end as well but we rush 4 the reason we can get away with that and do as well as we do I'd because of AD and that is huge for the back end. Ramsey was very good with no pass rush and so was Williams. Green bay was obviously with no rush to pass to any and everyone hill was covering. Run hard at Donald right into those ribs when he was in there and when he wasn't just gash us.

all things the same if just AD had been healthy it's a different game. I feel strongly about that.

We have many of the same issues we had last off season.

To some degree that's true, but our OL, while not where we want it to be, it closer than it was last year. One interior stud either at C or a G (allowing Corbett to move to C) could do wonders.

Also, this year we don't have the giant questions marks with regard to Gurley and Cooks.

Our Ol is closer to average, we need a difference maker or two.

The Gurley and Cooks situation pretty much set us back a year.
But basically, we still have many of the same issues we did last off season.

You need to put kupp back on the slot woods outside and a real receiver on the other side. Jefferson could be that guy but we don't know yet.

The Goff thing is the tricky part what will cost more? Trading Goff in a blockbuster and tinkering with the offensive line adding beef in the draft or ....keeping Goff and retooling the line. Where can the money be manipulated the most? A new qb via trade and dump or new offensive line?

We have already established Goff can be very good in good to great conditions. He needs a line that can block but also hold there blocks as we see with other pocket passers who have success. How our offensive line was ranked 3rd if I heard correctly is beyond me but someone like Watson or Russel Wilson would be stellar with our line for Goff no and it has nothing to do with him being great or awful has more to do with skill set. Rams may have the right qb but the wrong line or the wrong qb and the right line if they had a Watson or Wilson etc.

Need more speed on both sides of the ball. My shopping list would be:
WR with speed to stretch the field and take the PR job.
ILB with 4.5-4.6 speed to compete with Howard and Young.
C Bigger Center that can anchor on his own and be a plus in the running game.
RB 3rd down back that can catch and understands protection. James White type RB.
OLB Pass rush specialist, they need to get AD more help with Floyd a FA

Add a return specialist to the list.

I think one of Kupp or Woody may be traded. We have the possession side covered with one of those two guys plus Jefferson. Moving one of them to a team who needs possession options could free up a little space and allow for another young wideout who can stretch the field for us a bit.
yeah i would hope if we do trade one of those two it would be kupp because of injuries. he seems two have 1 or 2 every year and i don't think it will get better with age

I have to agree. Kupp is one of my favorite players but the injuries are an issue. We are a bit too flush in possession options so I would agree he's probably the target if they make a move. I hate even the idea of it but it is what it is.

If they stand pat at wideout (which I'd be fine with I'm just observing that's an area they could make a move) then they really need a threat to emerge at TE to give this offense a boost.

And this is where the fact that Hopkins didn't even sniff the field concerns me. Because I would think he'd factor in there but if he can't get on the field in 2020 over Mundt, who didn't play well compared to just his own 2019 tape... Yeah.

IMO just add one explosive threat. Could be a TE or a WR. TE kind of sucks because it takes longer to develop, however the best TEs do tend to show something early so if we hit there we would see a boost.

If they do that plus fix Center then I think we have enough for a nice run in 2021 and whoever plays QB (it will likely be Goff IMO) will have more time and more weapons.
