EARTH CITY, Mo. -- Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley scored 10 touchdowns in his rookie campaign, a number that helped send him to his first Pro Bowl on his first try.
But running the ball isn't common practice in the annual All Star game, so Gurley had to go a different direction to score his first Pro Bowl touchdown. Gurley caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson in the second quarter. It was the first touchdown scored by a Ram in the Pro Bowl since Steven Jackson after the 2010 season.
Gurley finished the night with two catches for 18 yards to go with three carries for 18 yards.
Elsewhere on the Rams' front, punter Johnny Hekker had a memorable moment. He completed a pass to Seattle receiver Tyler Lockett for 10 yards and a first down on a fake punt and helped execute another fake punt for a first down later in the game. It was somewhat fitting that Hekker did his damage with Seahawks involved as the Rams have enjoyed recent success with special teams trickery against them.
Hekker also punted once for 42 yards in his second Pro Bowl appearance. Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald also participated in his second Pro Bowl. He did not register any statistics on the unofficial pressbox numbers.
