What delay? He signed before camp?

.
It’s like when you show up to work 1 minute before start time. Technically made it but the boss comments “ you are pushing it buddy”.

95% of rookies are signed (259 of 274 picks).

Yea we are aware of the 2nd round issue this year… still not a great look for a rookie.

WTF - dude !!! At what point did Terrance Ferguson do anything WRONG??

The Freaking Rams website isn’t even updated!! Talk about someone who is getting PAID & not even showing up to WORK !!

When you go to work events & VOLUNTEER .When you GO TO WORK & AREN’T getting PAID!!

Dude I’m just going to CHILL the
F”Out right now.

What I’ll say is T. Ferg 18 is a solid Ram Player who has gone ABOVE & BEYOND!! In FACT has RISK his CAREER already for The Rams without having signed a contract & or even been asked to show up for training camp yet.

The NFL is a business like no other, they take advantage of the circumstances that are set by rules that are boarder line FREAKING BS!

I’ll keep chill and just say The Rams just signed a good kid with GREAT HANDS & will dedicate himself myself to being successful.

Texas Ram you should embrace this young man & know there is a process.

I guess a question to you would be your thoughts on The Rams & Stafford last season? Then again even this offseason?

We can go deeper into it as well.

You taking it too serious SoMan.

Maybe I should have added a smily face or two.

If I saw Ferg at camp I’d give him shit with a smile on my face and say “you stressing me out with that signing bro. Now you gotta make up for it and prove your worth all that money Rook!”

He would laugh it off and reply “I got you Bro!”

He's been at every ota and been participating with all team activities. He's given an excellent look for a rookie. Not sure what there is to complain about.

Well I was at Training Camo a few times. You better bet in the day at uci I’d get my digs in.
The money thing ? Talk about a stressful time or times ? Yeah - it hasn’t always been gravy & thinking everything taste great. This dude isn’t even a thing.

First MONEY after a Player has signed ?? Well I guess GURLEY-GOFF were 2 contracts Inwould have probably yelled about, but between respect & Covid ?? Never did that.

Talk about a HC under contract ???
Not all in during a season & not sure about his future.( TALK ABOUT PISSED OFF ! There was a Ram Dad I wanted to cill!! Yeah never forget that interview & a kid just yelling crap & not knowing chit & the dude was worse.Would have went off on him). I will say I told Mcvay your a HOF coach you can’t leave the game.

Do I take it seriously?? Or to seriously?? I’d say way over the top.My post suggests that.

Want to talk Angels Baseball Right Now ??? Yeah - after there draft & the way they look at there FRANCHISE!!!

Talk about La Kings Hockey ? LA Lakers !! There is a Fans will to Championships.

Look back at what Sean Mcvay walked into. I think it was 2 years in a row ?? When you’re talking a 5 year contract vs. a 5 year contract.

What I know is AD99 was a HOLDOUT & on his way to The HOF.
Not sure if he was Franchised ??

What I say is PEOPLE want to forget, but OWNERSHIP can’t forget.

The Rams have built this FRANCHISE under TEAM VALUES.
It hasn’t been easy & have made mistakes.

That said IMO & from the past Gurley & Goff both got resigned early because of the AD98 holdout & didn’t want to go through that again.

AD99 was a FREAK of Nature & a WORKOUT WARRIOR!! He did sign before the season, but was sort of held out a game ? He had to play into game shape.

Jared Verse - later ??

this year It’s Kyren who is under contract & IMO he doesn’t play games or have attitude like EJ53 & even Cam Akers. Yeah - Van Jefferson was a question mark ??

It was only an issue to fans looking for something to worry about.
This had nothing to do with Ferguson, just an agent doing there job.

Sorry I remember years ago people said that when they having their run under Rich Brooks back in 1994 and Dan Foutes came out and replied: "It's the fighting Ducks." Quite frankly IMO if I was a football player today Oregon would be on my short list.

I have been to Eugene and the campus is amazing plus there is a buzz or quack if you will, but that doesn't make it any easier when my Buckeyes have to play them plus their Head Coach is top notch IMHO.

Yeah I ran through an analysis paralysis with other members on his speed after the draft.

Suffice it to say that speed and acceleration aren’t the same. He looks slow off the line to me. He’s also a strider, which isn’t a bad thing. Once up to full speed he can move deceptively fast.
Good points, his 10 yard split was 1.53, which is a good time. Interesting that he did not participate in the cone drill or the 20 yard shuttle. You might be onto something there also did not bench press.

But this is true too....Ferguson adds speed and explosion to the unit, averaging 9.5 yards after catch per reception last season, which ranked first among FBS tight ends with at least 30 targets according to Pro Football Focus.

Lance Zierlein's breakdown:

Overview

Productive pass catcher with good size but an alarming lack of tenacity and fire when it’s time to run block. Ferguson saw adequate short-catch volume but was rarely asked to venture beyond the front yard as a route-runner. He has not shown enough technique or toughness to neutralize an NFL edge defender at the point of attack, but he can hit targets as a move blocker. Ferguson could improve in that area with additional coaching, but he might need to find the grit needed to compete against NFL tough guys as a run blocker to realize his full potential.

Strengths

  • Racked up solid catch production over the last three seasons.
  • Displays build-up speed when asked to run seam routes.
  • Shows ball skills and body control.
  • Gets every inch of reach available when high-pointing a catch.
  • Capable of banging through an uncommitted tackler.
  • Potential for improvement as a run blocker.
  • Adequate run-block strain when he’s on level footing.

Weaknesses

  • Leans way out past his toes as a run blocker.
  • Plays with some passivity when fitting up blocks.
  • Ambles into routes with heavy steps.
  • Disappointing contested-catch rate for a player his size.
  • Lacks foot quickness to elude initial tackler after catch.

The negatives on Ferguson- name me one tight end that does not look a little slow and ambling in their running style. I see routes the Pfizer boy runs and I think heck I’m faster and more twitchy than him! (Especially after coffee. I’m very twitchy after coffee)

Let’s just see if he gets it in the League. Some guys do, and some guys don’t.

I'm glad they got him got him signed. Don't know if he woulda stayed away if he wasn't signed. If so, that woulda delayed his development. As a rookie I don't see him being a significant contributor early on. But now with camp time and preseason he can speed up the process and maybe see more snaps later in the season. If he develops properly he can be a weapon in this offense.

Rams using him as a slot weapon, not as an inline blocker, eliminates a couple of his biggest weaknesses. He's probably looking at around a third of the slot snaps, or thereabouts, with room to grow or shrink depending on how he plays.

Primary push in camp will be making sure he knows the scheme and improving his route running.

Also and for the record I don't think he's a future slot weapon type TE. I think he is Higs' replacement but they are just starting him out so that he can contribute and give Stafford another security blanket over the middle.

If Higs goes down this season we'll probably go with Parkinson or Allen if he shows blocking improvement. But thereafter it should be Fergy.

Ill be happy if good enough to replace Higs when that time comes. Our TE Room had 459Yards and 3TD all year, with 2 TD coming when Higs returned. Before that they were combined 1 TD all year and 393 Yards.

A dynamic receiving threat from the TE spot would be exciting, but he won’t be replacing Higbee until he learns to block.

WTF - is anybody asking him to replace Tyler Higbee? I don’t know.

When your talking about being a dynamic pass catcher, blocking is subjective. The dude knows how to block. That’s a given, the thing is to what extent.

What I’ll say & what I vision from just OTA’s is he is a bigger WR(te),who in the slot adds a different element than WE as Rams Fans have yet to see.

When Sean Mcvay first became the HC of The Rams. The first thing that was talked about is how he used his(Reed) TE’s in Washington as a (TE/OC) young coach. As The Rams HC his first player EVER drafted with The Rams was Gerold Everett. His best 3 years have been with other teams.

IMO this is the first time with The Rams. Mcvay has a TE who is that weapon as he used to say.(DE,RB,QB,OLB).
