I actually have always liked the Chargers but after the fiasco in San Diego (where they belong), I hope they lose every game and blow every draft pick until the seats are empty and the league forces them to move elsewhere.

I am ambivalent about the Chargers, although I think Rivers is one of the most under-rated QB's of this era. Playing in the AFC with Manning and Brady for his career sort of kept him out of the spotlight he otherwise would have had.

The owner is a POS. That's for sure.

I don't care that they are sharing the stadium with the Rams, it doesn't bother me like it does with a lot of guys on the board. To that I say that we should all be happy it wasn't the Raiders. So be grateful that Spanos used his first right because if he decided not to the Raiders were going back to LA.

I can see this POS Spanos making a play for the Oakland market in the future though.

The NFL would like that because then it could use the threat of moving to LA again to help get new stadiums built for the next 15 years or whatever.

I think the Chargers best bet would be to move completely off of the west coast. Not sure where would be a viable location, but I do not think San Diego or Oakland is the answer and I already know LA is not the answer.

I think if Spanos moved the tea back the fans would forgive him. They may not vote for a new stadium though.

Another thing is that Spanos may be stuck in LA. Didn't his G3/G4 money get doled out already? If so he's going nowhere.

He's probably going nowhere anyway of course.

Austin Texas would be a good place for the Chargers

If (and when) Spanos gets tired of being the "redheaded stepchild" of the NFL, he has a ready made stadium and fan base waiting for him with open arms in Mexico City. The NFl has played games there for the past ten years with sellout crowds. Chargers already have a large fan base there as San Deigo is right on the border with Mexico. The move would make everyone happy.

@bubbaramfan how is he the redheaded stepchild of the NFL?

He's a turd, and I am not sure how popular he is among other owners. My guess would be they all feel pretty neutral towards each other overall tough.

I;'m sure some are friends of course.

They have a fanbase in SD that would support them.

The answer, which is rarely this clear cut... is to have them be sold and the new owner move them back to SD and work with the city to make a stadium that's modest, in the spirit of the laid back SD style and shares with one of the local unis.

SD fans were passionate and while I think they'd be embraced in St. Louis, among other cities, especially if there were no stadium drama... the Chargers need to go back to SD under new ownership.

I think it's less "trapped in hell with gods laughing at them" than a full-blown voodoo curse given by the gods. Then said gods threw them into the ninth circle of hell. Not satisfied with that, they forced Satan to drop Brutus from one of his mouths before having him chew on the Chargers until the end of time.

...Too weird?

I don't think any NFL owner will accept a "modest" stadium because there is SO much money to be pocketed from the venue.

I'm not sure that STL will ever go near the NFL again after the shitshow that just occurred and the horrible treatment and lies they got from the league. I just don't see that ever happening.

And the stadium drama would be present in any market they could consider.

No team is going to move without a new stadium guarantee.

That's how these thieves play.

Mebbe a bit.
