Have no idea - as I don't really understand how that works. Don't know how much of Davis' income is directly related to his local tv market/area. I thought the NFL owners shared tv revenues equally.

Right. So if Raiders leave 6th market for 42nd market, hurts overall TV value and potentially impacts TV money which is shared by all. So i can see how the Raiders in Vegas works for Vegas, just not sure it works for the NFL...

Lets face it as other pointed out Gambling is everywhere now....every town of any size has a casino. The knock on Vegas is all smoke now. Sooner or later that town will make some owner super rich.

Forget TV market - besides the OAK market is already covered by SF (the market being considered as the 6th largest is SF/OAK/SJ combined) so that market is NOT empty.
Luxury suite revenues mostly go to the team owner (it is one of the few revenues that is not shared much if at all) - a Vegas stadium will have a wall of Suites as the Casinos line up to use them as for customers (comp packages and such - especially high rollers)
Sell outs will be easy - even teams that don't travel well generally will have fans who can see making a weekend out of Vegas, no one will look at it and go and what else will we do while there?

Not even sure how the League could stop Raiders from going? yes they could vote against it, but Davis would sue - and at this point it is likely to win. They have already said his current site is not viable they have given him an option (though 2nd in line) to move to LA...what basis would they have to stop a move to Vegas? What bi-law rule would they use in court to try to overcome Anti-trust law, they have basically already said that he meets the requirements and they have set the standard low with recent actions. They can't go into court and expect to win with an argument that gambling is there and thus it is a bad location.

If you look at the market sizes of teams there are like 4 current teams in smaller markets than Las Vegas including the Saints who have been a long term tenant with good support. I don't think the league backlash on the owner side--which is what matters--would be significant since the Las Vegas stadium would come with all the bells and whistles they want with a new stadium namely the luxury suites.

Plus Vegas with a new stadium on UNLV grounds would be very close to the strip. Talk about an ideal location for a Super Bowl...

The hypocrisy in the the NFL's stance on Vegas is mind-boggling, even before Fan Duel and Draft Kings. I'ts integral to their success. Soon as they get their cut, that'll change.
And yeah, the stadium's getting built regardless - Feritita's probably gonna be involved as well. Exciting times.

(And I found out there's another Rams' fans in Vegas - what part of town?)

I'm up in Centennial Hills. Live here and also have a place in cali I bounce between. Who knows, now that the Rams are back we'll be able to have a legit RAMS bar here in town eh?

Mark Davis: New lease in Oakland is “number one plan” for 2016

With the door to Los Angeles slammed back in his face for 2016, Raiders owner Mark Davis is searching for potential options for his franchise for the future.

However, the short-term decision seems to be fairly straightforward.

According to Rachel Swan of the San Francisco Chronicle, Davis said the Raiders “number one plan” is to secure a new lease in Oakland for next season.

“Right now we’re trying to get a one-year lease extension with the Oakland Coliseum,” Davis said.

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf also said getting an extension done with the Raiders is the first item on the agenda before moving into discussions over a potential long-term solution for the team in the East Bay.

Though Davis has explored other cities such as Las Vegas and San Antonio as potential landing spots for the Raiders, the reality is Oakland is the only option that makes sense for 2016. The team won’t commit to a future in Oakland, Las Vegas or otherwise without a new stadium. They also won’t commit to something with the possibility of a return to Los Angeles still lingering as well.

So for now, the Raiders and Oakland seem to be destined for yet another year together in 2016.

I would like to see the Raider's stay in Oakland. I think it's were they belong! But Californian's don't want to give-up public money to rich Fat-Cats to Build them a new stadium, to make them richer!!
IF Football is a business, as they like to say. Let them Pay to build their own business!! Like Kroenke did!!
True.
All that money needs to go to something that will prove to be a benefit to everyone and not just a rabbit hole money disappears down.....like a bullet train (blue font).

Easy sell to free agents.
Live in Vegas as a high profile pro athlete getting paid well? As a young guy, who wouldn't love that? No state income tax either.

I live here in Vegas and there's more than enough people here over 2 million. And the visitors we get just in football season is over 13 million. The stadium site is 10-15 min walk from the strip and across the street from Mccarron airport. So yes I think it would work and be very successful here.
