STFU. I deal with depression. He deals with affluenza, and never being told no. It's not even close to the same thing. My best friend went to A&M, which is a freaking cult, and he hates Johnny every bit as much as I do.

One of my favorite youtube channels played golf with him in the spring and discussed him on their podcast. Seems to me he's really grounded and living his best life. He's pretty honest about how he wasnt ready for all that came his way, and how he didnt handle it well.
Not a Barbara Walters interview here, but a fun watch:

I look forward to my ride to work on Tuesday's when the Brilliantly Dumb Show podcast is available. Was always a big fan of Bob does Sports, and when Fat Perez came aboard it went to a whole new level

Manziel was so utterly lost.

But I’m really rooting for him now.

Even if he just has a brief 2-3 year NFL career as a backup, that would be an amazing success story.
How? He's a spoiled rich kid set for life, regardless of what his NFL "career" does.

I deal with bipolar myself. I’ve had mood swings, mania, serious depression, and did shit that no sane person does. I also had schizophrenic symptoms (hallucinations, paranoia, etc.).

While Johnny Fuckballs probably does deal with bipolar or BPD, it’s absolutely no excuse, much like I have no excuse with some of the things I’ve done. I would’ve gone to jail with some of the shit I did, shit I regretted as soon as I was in my right mind (I went to court for two cases of assault, one on a cop, the other on my brother. Basically had to undergo many visits to see if I was a danger to society.), and the only reason I wasn’t subsequently arrested for missing court dates was because the judge heard I jumped off a bridge, heard about my permanent injuries, and decided on my fate, and thank holy fate he was merciful in that regard.

I hope for the sake of Johnny Fuckballs’ family that he gets some fucking help because just whining about it and bitching about how bad his life is doesn’t do shit.

If I NEVER read another post about Manziel it will be too soon. I’ll stay away but man he ain’t worth the keystrokes.

He never tried at the next level, and he got what he deserved. He thought he could just wing it. Life is often harder than it seems. If he suffers from mental health issues, let's hope he get's the help he needs.

I don't think Johnny's problem is "just" affluenza. Yeah, he might be a spoiled brat, might act like an arrogant prick, might have an over-inflated ego because he was worshiped at the A+M cult, etc etc. But he ALSO has a major mental health diagnosis of bipolar I disorder. That is some serious shit that dramatically affects everything he thinks and says and does. Sounds like his substance use was a misguided attempt to self-medicate.

Two things can be true at the same time. Johnny can have mental illness and also be an asshole.

I'd be interested in watching the documentary when it comes out.

If you mean the Untold doc on Netflix, it's out now. Hard to find much empathy for him after watching it IMO.....which was surprising to me. I expected to feel differently after hearing his story. He's truly his own worst enemy....

I didn’t really care for the Netflix doc. They skimmed through his time with the Browns way too fast. I wanted to hear from his teammates. If I remember right, the Browns brought in Josh McCown to be a mentor to Johnny. I would have liked to hear his input.

Nope. Just JFF, his parents, some guy he doesn’t talk to anymore, and a bit of Cliff Kingsbury.

The only thing I found interesting was the agent’s story about trying to keep him clean for the combine.

Apparently watching that documentary him being a rich kid was totally made up by his friend and him to cover up for the money they were getting by signing merchandise. 30k a signing session in a hotel or wherever! lol

Interesting.

Just read a review of the documentary, which apparently didn't go into much detail about the time he beat the crap out of his girlfriend.

Yeah, Johnny sounds like one fucked up dude...

Living his best life ?

Kaepernick 2.0. “I can still play man”

He’s been out of football for several years. I’m sure he burned some bridges and he wasn’t very good.

I watched the untold story doco last night.

A scrambler on and off the field. The lengths his agent went to to hide his obvious addiction issues in order to get him drafted in the first round ... so dishonest.
