I didnt think I'd be able to continue in my Ram Life without visiting a certain other message board to get the information I need to quench my fanhood.

I was wrong about that.

Well, honestly  the last time I was wrong was in believing that Rams made a great choice by drafting Eric Crouch to play Safety (visions of Nolan Cromwell)

I thought not resigning Adam Archuleta was a mistake...

I thought Spags was going to turn it around and lead us to the promised land...

I thought the Skins' were going to be fucking awful last year and that we would have a top-5 pick from them...

I thought drafting a RB in 2004 was a fucking stupid idea since we already had Faulk...

There are many, many more. But those will do for now!

Saffold, because of all my criticisms about the pick, him being injury prone wasn't one of them. It may be still questionable if he's a LT even outside of the injuries, but he was worth every bit of the pick.

I never ever thought Steven Jackson would actually leave the Rams for another team.

I used the phrase "I trust Devaney" multiple times when he made certain moves. I jump on board whatever he did. :nono: :nono: :nono:

I really liked Salas, was down on Pettis.

I was a Tye Hill fan till the end.

I thought Amendola was going to be the odd man out in the camp receiver competition the season after he was brought in.

Fastest? Well, he was fasteest to get to training camp, realize the investment it took to play defense, then declare "I dont think I wanna play football"

I thought the Drew Bennett signing was a good one.

I thought that Glenn Dorsey would have been a better pick than Chris Long(glad I was wrong).

I was a fan of Keith Null after his brief cameo. :slap!:

Donnie Avery and Mardy Gilyard.

Some off the top of my head. I thought Greg Salas, Jerome Murphy, Justin King and Darrell Scott were gonna be solid contributors in this league. All of which had the ability but never truly translated or injuries hurt their chances.

King and Scott had/have all the natural skills to be solid starters in this league at CB and DT, but they just could not tap into that ability on the transition from college to the pros. Sad because a guy like King who I was very high on coming out of Penn State became a huge liability on defense, especially in 2011 of course. Shoot I even felt kind of bad for the kid (after I ripped my hair out chewing him out through my TV).

I told everyone months before the 2009 draft that James Laurinaitis was leaps and bounds the better prospect than Rey Maualuga and if he dropped to round two we can not pass the opportunity to take the tackling machine and player who could become the best deep zone coverage LB in the league vs the guy who can really just make big hits from time to time, but never be consistent enough to be a true impact player..... Told ya so Maualuga marks! :bign:

I was talking about drafting Chris Givens months before the draft and how he is late 1st to 2nd round talent. A relatively polished WR who will be able to step in and be solid ready contributor in year 1 because of his speed and solid route tree (for a young WR). I was very frustrated we drafted Brian Quick ahead of Givens, Quick one of the few WRs I wanted to very much stay away from....To my surprise we snag the dropping Givens in round 4...I told everyone that Givens would make a much much bigger impact than Quick in year 1 (and IMO the latter).....Told ya so!! :bign:

Oh crap...This isnt the "I told ya so" thread?

Sorry disregard this haha.

I was very partial to Keenan Burton. He worked very hard, had good speed, solid hands, but had to deal with knee issues. I thought he was gonna become a solid player for us. Coming out of Kentucky he was a pretty well known prospect and many would said he could have been a 1st rounder if his knee was not an issue.

I remember I was very high on the kid when watching tape on him before and after the draft. Thought our 4th round WR (Burton) had a chance to be an overall better player than our 2nd round WR (Avery). Burton had a decent rookie season for where he was taken, had a couple moments. Year 2 in 2009 he was somewhat thrown into a starting role with Torry gone and when Robinson got hurt, but I saw some good things from Burton in the 9 games he played before unfortunate injury that put him on IR.

2010 training camp comes and Burton seems to be doing well, then the pre-season gets going and we gave him plenty of looks but he just had uncharacteristic drops and seemed to be favoring his knee. Gets cut in the final cuts and his story is over.

Thought Burton would have been a bit more. Maybe a poor mans prime A.Boldin.

But I was wrong

Without much explanation after each and this not specifying how far back... I'll go w/ the following; Donnie Avery, Brandon Lloyd,Greg Salas, Marty Gilyard, Steve Smith, Danario Alexander, I have to say it 'Dru Bennett'...notice a common theme here. :razzed:

I was one of the ones who wanted Ray Maualaga over JL55 and screamed in agony when the pick was announced

Also thought with Spags the Rams would be making the playoffs and have a hell of a defense

I havent been posting here long, but, some things I have been wrong about....

I thought Long was exactly like Grant Winstrom, a decent player who maxed his potential in college. I like the Drew Bennett signing. I liked the hiring of Spags....God, makes me gag to type that. Going back in time I thought the D line of Stokes/Gilbert/Butte/R. Young was going to be a great line, not good, but great. I told everyone who would listen the Rams HAD to find a way to draft Trent Dilfer. After watching Kaepernic in person through his college career I was glad when the Whiners went to him. In his college career he was not a very accurate QB. Sitting out at Mackay Stadium you would see him make a nice throw or two then miss wide open receivers. I guess coaching does matter.

Got another one I thought of. I was very wrong about Dejuan Groce

When we drafted DeJuan Groce out of Nebraska in 2003 I was very excited and thought we were gonna have a solid Nickle CB and more importantly a perennial all pro punt returner. In college Groce was named a First-Team AP All-American for his punt-return duties, finishing fourth nationally with 17.0 yards per punt return. Groce joined 1972 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Rodgers as the only players in NU history to amass 1,000 career punt return yards.

.....Well that did not translate into the NFL at all. In 2003 Groce returned 19 punts for only 7 yards per return, but most gruesome was his 5 fumbles. With just over a 25% muffed punt rate, Groce lost his punt return duties very fast to Mike Furrey, Dane Looker, and Shaun McDonald.
