I would feel a lot better about 14-2 or 13-3 than 16-0. The Patriots went 18-0 and lost the Superbowl. If anyone was equipped to handle the pressure it was them. Yet, they were one game short in the finale. Hoisting the trophy with a few losses during the season is better than not hoisting it and that being your only loss.

Watching New Orleans I find that hard to believe. They do a lot of short stuff but they take deep shots every week.

As champions, the Rams will need to open on Thursday night in LA. In the AFC, they only play the Bengals and the Ravens at home, so no Superbowl rematch. My guess is the Rams open at home vs the Saints in an NFC Championship game rematch.

The Super Dome is 3rd place in loudness behind Arrowhead(2) and CLink (1). The Saints Super Dome is ok for loudness, but we face worse in Seattle every year, AND we are 11-1 away from the coliseum. NO FEAR.

That's how far Brees' average pass traveled through the air. I have no doubt they will use that game against us. That's why I'm thinking the Rams should start 7 in the box with a single high to prevent the short passes.

Yeah, I don't think Brees has the arm strength to throw downfield more than 30 yards. Barron could be a key to defending the short pass. Pressure Brees to throw before he wants to and clog the short pass area.

Speaking of Kupp....In saying that the Rams will lose to the Saints as the popular HOT TAKE by the Talking Heads....NO ONE outside of ROD and other Rams sires are talking about the effect of the return of Goff's safety blanket, Cooper Kupp. Mr. Moving-the-Sticks seems always to be making plays when he's in there. The last few weeks with him out, many drives were short without Kupp being out there....Reynolds did great last week for a few plays, but he's no Cooper Kupp.

Finally having a real OLB edge rusher out there will provide pressure that we haven't had this year while our Interior Dline crushes the pocket. Moving Suh back to NT will make the Rams even more stout against the run.

But having Kupp out there will expose the Saints defense, along with Todd Gurley screens and jet sweeps and throws midefield to Woods...and long shots to Cooks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This. Although winning in Nawlins this week would be a huge element in getting home field, which would in turn increase our odds of getting to the big show.

But yeah, it's entirely possible the Rams lose this game and still get home field and run the table. So it's not the end of the world if we don't win this game. But I really want this W. Drop another game, just not this one. Whoopin the Saints' a$$es would be ideal here tbh.

Just don't like the matchup, but then again I'm the guy who is eliminated from both pickems so it's not like my opinion in these things carries any sort of uncanny accuracy. So hope I'm wrong.

IMO you are 100% correct, and this is the smart move for the Rams. They need to make sure they keep Brees off balance and mess up the timing on the drop backs. Last year the Saints would have been playing in the NFC title game if it weren't for the fluke TD the Vikings got on them when the defense lapsed on that miracle pass by Keenum.

This is a good team this year as well.

Last year Brees had a decent game, but not a great one and it was because of the pressure the Rams put on him. He's Drew Brees so he got some big plays in but for the most part he wasn't able to do much damage. This years DL is better than last year, and Wade knows the way to beat the Saints is to pester Brees into shot passes and give him fewer opportunities for intermediate and deep shots..

The game wasn't as close as the score.

One reason you don't see a lot of Brees in the highlight video here is because he really didn't do much. A few big pass plays but they came on short passes because he didn't have a lot of time to scan the field.

It would also make the matchup against the Chefs top of mind for everyone in sports media. They will be running their pie-holes all week, two actually after the Rams beat SEA. The Chefs will come in at 10-1 to the Rams 11-0.

toughest game on the schedule, imo. so if you're gonna pick the Rams to lose one this should be it so I totally understand people going with the saints. their a good team and tough at home. should be a good one, hopefully we can pull it out

I think the Chiefs game at over 7350 feet will be a much harder game. If you thought Mile High was tough, this is over 2100 feet HIGHER against a team that relies on speed and misdirection even more than the Rams.

The first D that gets gassed will fold and some of that won't be anything anyone can do about it. I LOVE that McVay is taking the team to Colorado Springs to train at altitude. I hope that makes the difference.

Still, I think we've dealt with loud before and will be fine.

Mexico City against the Chiefs, imho, is the toughest game on the schedule.
