Grid from Blowout Cards forums summarized what they do. They pay a lot more than other teams on signing bonuses. Those signing bonuses are spread out over voidable years at the end of the contract. Every team does it, but it requires paying up front money. Eagles owner is one of the wealthiest people in America.

As of right now they have over $427 million in void-year charges for 2026-2033. Which is crazy.

San Fran is doing it too, for the same reason. Gotta strike if you feel you have a SB Caliber team. They are about $205MIL in void. Browns (Almost $200MIL), Saints ($115MIL) & Jaguars ($107MIL) are not all in for a Super Bowl. But still on the list of top VOID

The best of the rest...
6. NYJ: $87.6M
7. MIA: $70.6M
8. DAL: $62.755M
9. TB: $56.1M
10. DET: $52.1M
11. BAL: $50.8M
12. HOU: $47.09M
13. MIN: $47.08M
14. DEN: $40.3M

Like this?

So its a "hack" but the top 10 list contains
Browns, Saints, Jaguars, Jets, Dolphins, Cowboys? (And Niners?)
Seems like this is a recipe for disaster
Eagles will be in Cap Hell when that dead money all shows up

It averages $53m dead cap per year.

I guess they think total cap increases will negate some of that.

.

Stan Kroenke isn't starving. Where are the Rams on this list?
How do you think the Rams paid all those players for the SB run. They just went through the "rebuild" by dumping high priced players. Starting next year or so, they will have to start paying all these young players and they will be near the top again.

When the Browns, Jags & Saints are other members of the 5 team club who has "figured out" this hack, it just doesnt paint a positive picture

It more than just spending money. It is evaluating talent which the Ealges are good at as well.

The hack isn't just using the voidable years to spread the signing bonuses. Everyone does that. The hack is to spend ridiculous amount of money.
