I don't think there is a good TE worth taking even in round2 this year. A good WR will help free up Austin and Gurley better than an average TE.

There are good TEs in this draft. The Rams just have to un-F the way they evaluate the position.

They don't need another good run blocker who can catch passes. They need a dominant pass catcher. A big guy with great hands, who has just enough speed or route running to get open. Their problem is they need to start with hands as top priority when they target their prospects. Quit worrying about how well they block, or whether they're a freak athlete, and all that other stuff that is not what they need. Hands. Size. Someone who can be counted on to catch a pass on a critical 3rd down or in the redzone.

As that video breakdown shows, the Rams have a good thing going at the line of scrimmage in terms of establishing an effective ground attack that has options, and will keep LB's guessing and reacting....but the key element still missing despite all that is a dimension downfield. The Rams still have none, and that allows the secondary to read and react to The Gurley/Tavon LOS Show, without having to worry too much about our backup-caliber QB's getting the ball deep to our average WR's.

The foundation for an NFL offense is in place but the Rams need to force DB's to cover someone downfield.

Wasn't the Steelers game till Cignettks offense?
Yeah this entire video breakdown was based upon the first several games. Through the Packers game i think, so yeah it was Cignetti's offense. The concepts didn't seem to change much at all when Boras took over. The overall execution seemed to tighten up though.

I couldn't play the video on the kindle but I thought the offense changed quite a bit after Boras took over. It was not so predictable or simple. Cignetti basically was running 'Dickerson left/Dickerson right' from the 1980's. With Boras there was more power run blocking and more pulling linemen. Much more variety.

I do agree that under Boras the execution was much more crisp, and OLine penalties nearly non existent. But the scheme was not as predictable. Adding Mike Groh to the mix should help bring the offense up to date with the defense.

Great watch. Running game can only get better this year. I like to see Tavon get those touches which makes the decoy that much harder for defenders not to react. Rams just need a better passing game.
