I'm drafting 2 corners.. one high and one in mid-rounds.. and signing one upper-tier FA corner.. and keeping Forbes and signing one lower-tier FA. That could be McCreary.

I would absolutely add to the dline/pass rush mix as well.

Honestly, I feel like every single concern on D is fixed with a couple upper level corners. My biggest hope is we do what the eagles did a few years ago and double up. Mansoor with 13…and I’m hoping that McCoy falls the way Will Johnson did
Double dig is absolutely needed and would fix many of the D issues. But I think the double dip needs to be a combo of a high pick and free agency (or trade). Reliance on 2 rookies (for top 3 CBs) is a bad idea.

Yeah you’re probably right, but I’d still like to draft two as it plans for the future, is safe against injuries, and/or best case scenario is both pick it up quick and beat out established vets. The secondary needs all the love they could give it.

Yes I think that will be the Rams' approach.

FA they'll get after one of the top names, and maybe a depth type to ensure the room isn't a catastrophe going into the draft. There is no way around this. Also they will have priority over just about every other team in terms of these FAs wanting to be on our defense so I think they'll succeed in signing their targets.

Then in the draft you hope things fall right for them to add another top young corner prospect to round that room out.

I'd use one of our first three picks on a snot bubblin bastid if at all possible. I don't want Banks, don't like his film at all and think he's a high chance to bust. But McDonald and Hunter fit what we need very well. Also I realize the Rams love drafting penetrators on the interior. But what they need is not that. They need power to anchor and disrupt.

FA should clear up their draft plans. They may go after one of the centers as well but what's left is gonna be who we're drafting. But I think the strengths of this draft (Edge and WR in particular in the top 100) will drive at least some of their strategy.

Styles won't fall to 29 unless he's a flaming asshole on that garbage ass Ohio St campus.
Well, if they are real active in FA, I wonder if they could take Styles at 13, then trade up from 29 to get Boston who is slated to go around 18-25. Of course they would have had to address CB heavily in FA.

Now, not sure I would do that. Maybe Lemon at 13, and trade up for Styles if he falls. I like Lemon better, but I saw the PFF guys rave about Boston on a recent Podcast.

One other scenario that makes it more palatable would be if they could move back a few spots and still get Styles at 15 or 16, then with that extra pick, from that initial trade, use that to trade up from 29 to get Boston or Lemon. Although Lemon probably doesn't last long.

So a trade back then a trade up might be a way to get the guys you want and still have 4 top 100 picks.

I'd just take Boston at 13. Weapons for Stafford are done.

Then you have three picks to go inside the top 100 to address defense. And address the shit out of it.

Of course the Rams will do some crazy bullshit like take an OT, or a DT, and throw our plans all out of whack. :laugh3:

I wonder if McSnead trades a 1st rounder for a 2027 first rounder in case Stafford retires. I'm okay with that. I'm also ok with F them picks and let's win SB 61. My other thought is who is QB 2? I'd be good with Jimmy G one more season

If Aden Durde where somehow available, I'd love to lure him away from Seattle and onto McVay's staff as the team's defensive coordinator. The Seahawk defense fooled and baited McVay's offense in containing the Rams to a supbar performance in the NFC championship game and they dominated in last night's Super Bowl.

I'm just really ... NOT with you on this ...

Seattle had the best Defense in the NFL in 2025.
The Rams put-up 479 yards of offense, including 114 yards rushing (5.2 yards-per-rush), with zero turnovers and 27 points ... including the 4th quarter drive that ended on downs at the Seattle 5.

The biggest offensive negative was 1-for-8 on third-down conversions.

McVay's Offense did all that against a Defense that held San Francisco to 236 yards and 6 points.
In the Super Bowl, through three quarters, New England had less than 100 yards of offense and no points.

And, about six weeks earlier, the Rams put-up almost 600 yards and 37 points against THAT same defense.

IMO, the bottom line is the Rams need improvement at the CB position, which will allow Shula to play tighter coverage. If this happens and the Rams are able to stay relatively healthy while possible adding another weapon at WR, I predict they will be Superbowl bound. I also believe our special teams will show improvement next season, at least, I hope.

I saw more issues with LB coverage on fast TE's and RB's coming out of the backfield. I watched Landman get burned all over the middle of the field by TE's.

Look for a speedy LB that is good in coverage.

Go get Greg Newsome and Reed Blankenship then draft Mansoor Delane and maybe Styles falls to 29.
Newsome was absolutely terrible this past year and got worse after the trade he's a hard pass for me. Love Delane but there are much much better free agent CB's than Newsome.

We need a haul of young studs to play on special teams! That alone would get us over the hump
