One thing, although I'm not in the huddle, is that the Rams don't seem to have an obvious leader like we had AD in the championship year. Someone that mentors and inspires the troops. When AD says give it all you got, the players hear that and respond.

The defense has 5 guys over 4 years of experience. One is Reeder another is Murchinson the last is Darious Williams. There is a total lack of veteran leadership on this roster as it was built. Meanwhile the offense has more guys over 10 years of experience. This all circles back to how McSnead have built the roster the last couple of years.

I’m calling for an alpha dog to be added to the defense to bring some juice next year. That won’t be through FA or Draft this year so would have to be via trade. Someone like Simmons/DT TEN, Garrett/ED CLE, Crosby/ED LV.
Not a fan of Crosby, he strikes me as a whiny sumbish. Maybe I'm reading him wrong idk. But we do have a leader on defense in Lake, for the back end at least. Think we could use an ILB who wants to be the dude running that front seven.

Also to be a great leader your game has to be elite. Some of these guys who have the leadership but their game isn't up to snuff, it erodes the effect of that leadership.

Think that's the Raider stink you're sensing.

I’m not as familiar with his play but sure. Gotta add some dogs on defense. Let’s start with a sure fire vet.
Would probably cost a 1st round pick and a ton of cap space, which I don't think is as great as some do.

Totally agree. For example, when we play Seattle, the focus should be on smacking the shit out of Darnold with creative blitzes or even coverage concepts (not that soft zone bullshit) to get him to hold the ball longer. There's some players where if you rattle them, you know you'll get a turnover or get them to see "ghosts". Definitely would love to see gameplans that can adapt more.
Exactly. This bend but don’t break shit is great until you break every freaking time the other team has the ball. Allowing them to drive 74 yards and 34 seconds is embarrassing. That whole defense should be embarrassed. It’s what got us beat the first time in Seattle, allowed Philly to come from behind, allowed Brock Purdy, and Mac Jones to pick us apart, etc. I’m tired of it. We need an aggressive defense not a soft one like we’ve played the last few years.

Nah Crosby is a dog. Non stop motor. He'd be a fan favorite pretty quickly. Not sure how much of an upgrade he would be or if he would be over Young. His stats but were not as good as Young this past year but I would expect them to be better with this D line. He's apparently a better run defender than Young. Guess the cost of young resigning would probably determine if the Rams would even entertain the idea of pursuing Crosby. I'd trust the Rams brass on this one.

Can't imagine BY's trade value would be very high right now. His production fell off a cliff. Knees are capricious MF'ers.
Look @ the projected market value of the 2026 UFA edge rusher class, BY has a lot of value still

You surprised me with this take, Raider stinch aside Crosby is a high motor vet with great production. He is said to have elite work ethic and 3 years straight voted team captain. Qualities we could use

Maybe the Rams go get Evans in FA. They tried before, and he'd be a monster with Stafford.

Then draft the fuck out of defense.

Rams defensive coordinators to make the Superbowl

Bud Carson (L)
Bunting/Guinta (W)
Lovie Smith (L)
Wade Phillips (L)
Raheem Morris (W)

Strange.

I don't know about that, unless he would sign for the minimum.
He only had 30 receptions and 3 TD's this season. DA had 60 and 14.
Evans would likely have better numbers with Stafford and the Rams, but that's not a certainty at his age.
How about we get the best WO or TE at 13, then go get some help for the defense.

Arguably, Wade Philips, Lovie Philips & Bud Carson did the best jobs in the SB considering who they were playing. Lovie had to overcome multiple KW turnovers and he only gave up 10 points. One TD was a pick 6.

The mighty Steelers were held in check for 3 quarters. And Wade shut down Brady.

Think he got hurt. I'd rather have the young X wideout of course, but he's been a machine most years if you look at his history. So it would be risky but lines up with making sure Stafford has the talent around him then invest your draft capital in that defense.
