Best TEAM? The 99 Rams.
The offense scored 55 TDs and kicked 20 FGs (27.8 PPG)
The defense scored 8 TDs (7 pick 6's, 1 FRTD) and we had 1 PR TD and 2 KR TD (11 non-offense TDs; 4.8 PPG)

The best offensive Rams team? 1950
31 passing TDs, 28 rushing TDs, 7 FG's (36.2 PPG)
2 defensive scores and 3 KR TDs

Of course, I wasn't born when the 1950 team was lighting up the scoreboard. They scored less than 30 four times in 12 games and went 1-3. They had 30, 35, 43, 45, 45, 51, 65 and 70 pt games (8-0). That's an 8 game average of 48.

Easily the 2001 Rams. We had superstars all over that defense: Aeneas Williams, London Fletcher, Leonard Little, Grant Wistrom, and Dre Bly. We had all of our offensive studs. Without the Cheatriots cheating, we would've had that Super Bowl.

So many men on that team got cheated because of those fuckers. It's why they're my most-hated team in sports.
I think even with the cheating, if Martz would have changed the offense sooner, we would have still won. That’s how good that team was.

Some of those Rams Bulger/Predator SJ39 teams were still fun as fuck, always salute to Mr. Bulger. Dude was tough as fuck and always professional! Hard to put any knocks on him usually scrambling for his life in any given snap back then. Now I want a Bulger jersey off eBay for some odd reason. Never give up!

I still remember on ESPN Chris Berman doing the Wizard of Oz theme song to Bulger highlights. I also remember meeting Lawrence Philips and The Bus Bettis both separate rookie years in Tempe ASU Stadium. Wow, two totally different careers. I'll say both were incredibly nice. I still have those autographs. Ahhhh the Rams memories. Da da da da da da da da ta da ta da, if HE only had an offensive line.

They deserved to be champs, just saying a tougher schedule would have given them a worse record when comparing them to other Rams SB teams.

So relax... sheesh.
If only the Rams played in the NFC central or east it....wouldn't have mattered.

What tougher schedule? They were the class of the NFC...by far. Vikings didn't have a defense that could stop our offense and the Bucs didn't have an offense that could score on our defense.

That schedule narrative was peddled by those who were so sure the Rams would be exposed as frauds as soon as they played a playoff team.

So much for that.

It was FUNNY to see all The(HATERS) jump on the bandwagon in SO CAL (LMAO).

I’ll say what DV built was special.
To think Kurt Warner wasn’t even The Rams best QB.He turned out to be,but imo all the Band wagoners might see it differently ?

Still mad at cheap shots & to think that dude ended up with the NE Cheaters.Inwish I wasn’t such as RAMS FAN !! It changed my life in a lot of ways.
—I know the divide of fans who saw the Rams move each time.

Belicheat as everyone who has followed the NFL/Ncaa that he was traded from NY Jets(jets week) for a draft pick (s) ? Well The Rams got draft picks for both DV & Trent Green.Mad Mike was left a lot of good resources. He just about got Warner killed.
What The Rams were back in the Day(the superbowl age)when The Rams That whole era was excellent.I’d say like the Steelers winning seasons every year.Jyst never winning much in the Playoffs

Two of their three post season games came down to the bitter end. Not like all of their regular season blowouts. Abd they lost to a so so Lions team & the Titans.

The 01' team beat many more really good teams that year, they just shit the bed against the Patriots after they filmed their practices.

The 01' team was better.

Well, you'd have to list all the Super Bowl champions that went undefeated in the regular season, which I think there has only been one. And, didn't the Titans make it to the Super Bowl that year?

I think the 1999 and 2021 Rams were the most "clutch" teams in recent history.
The 1999 Rams blew out the Vikings, but then needed QB heroics to beat Tampa Bay and the Titans.
The 2021 Rams blew out the Cards, but then needed QB heroics to beat Tampa Bay (again), the Niners and the Bengals.

The 2021 was more clutch because the team had one more game to win for the Super Bowl. You might say that the 1999 team was so good that it didn't need to play the extra game like the 2021 team.

I think if the 2021 team in its prime played the 1999 team in its prime, Stafford would snatch Warner's soul.

The 1999 team would no longer be able to sneak up on teams as they did during GSOT. Aaron Donald, Von Miller , Leonard Floyd and Jalen Ramsey were better than Kevin Carter, DMarco Farr, London Fletcher IMHO.
Both offenses would score their points.
Both HC's were excellent.
Both QB's were clutch with a high pain threshold . Although I fear for Kurt Warner if AD and Von hammered him for 4 quarters.

The 1999 team was good. Won a Superbowl. But I thought the 2001 team was a little better. Refs and the league clearly favored the underdogs. The 2021 team didn't put up the points the 1999-2001 teams did but knew how to get it done when it counted.
The 2001 team played defense, something the 2000 team had not and they were better than the 1999 defense. That team could just pin their ears back and rush all day the way the offense came out and put up points early and often.

I know it's subjective but IMO the 1999 defense was considerably better than the 2001 D. They allowed less TDs (23 to 27), had more picks (29 to 21), were almost identical in yards (4688 #4 to 4471 #3; 13 more yards per game allowed....not a huge difference) but scored with the ball more than the 2001 D (8 TDs to 5). The run D allowed 1189 yards on 338 (3.5) while the 01 team allowed 1374 on 366 (3.8). If you add in the special teams, the 99 team had 3 return TDs while the 2001 team 0. Speaking of pinning their ears back, the 99 team had 57 sacks (on 653 drops, 8.73% ) the 2001 team had 45 (on 586 drops, 7.68%). Overall, all around, the 99 D was better.

The offenses were almost identical.
99 #1 in yards (6412) 55 TDs 23 FGs (454 pts)
01 #1 in yards (6690) 57 TDs 20 FGs (459 pts)

But the 99 team won the Lombardi.....on a defensive tackle, while the 01 team lost the Lombardi on a last second FG drive.
