You're exactly right, and I think that bothers me most. Its one thing to be unable to run....quite another to be unable to run while unwilling to try something else.
 
When this happens, you HAVE to start giving him the ball out of the backfield. I don't care how it happens, you HAVE to make sure Austin gets his every game. How about using him as a decoy too? That ever cross anyone's mind?
 
Run a wildcat formation with Bailey quarterback and Austin at halfback, bailey cuts it up inside if it's open or pitches out to Austin on the edge. Just as a trick play, not full time.
