There certainly have been many, many good decisions made by the Rams in recent years. Some by draft, some by FA, some by trade. Too many to list, really.

But there were two decisions that tower above all others and have placed the Rams on a perennial playoff, maybe even SB path.

In no particular order:

The very expensive trade up to get Goff. He looks like a top 10 QB for the next 12-15 years at this point. Definitely a HR move.

The other biggie is the McVay hire. Snatched the 31 year old prodigy from under the nose of the Niners, at that. Required a quick and very ballsy decision by Demoff/Snead/Kroenke. A high stakes poker move if there ever was one by a team needing to re-establish itself in it’s new LA home. Looking like a Grand Slam HR so far.

There was another big and positive decision made recently, although not as earth shakingly dramatic as the above two. I’m talking about the retention of Snead and giving him final say on personnel moves. That’s looking like a genius call now, too. He’s working with McVay hand in glove.

Sit back and think about these 3 decisions for just a minute, won’t you? Especially the first two?

Gawd! The results that have come from those 3 decisions have transformed our 4-12 doormat team into an 11-5 division winner with legit SB dreams in just 18 months.

We are now in fairytale turnaround territory, y’all. Somebody pinch me! Lol.

Players only play so long. If you hire a great coach you'll have him for as long as you want him. Its not like he'll be looking to promote.

We're fortunate that our offense will have continuity. We don't have to worry if we lose the coordinator. The head coach is basically our offensive coordinator.

We're fortunate with our defensive coordinator too. He has no desire to promote. He'll be here as long as we want him to be.

You have to have a very good QB in today's NFL. Goff looks the part so far.

You need a very good head coach. So far so good with McVay who brought Phillips along for the defense.

Both need to keep growing but, have moved the Rams in the right.

Keeping Snead was a smart move. He has built what appears to be a top level scouting department. He has been active with trades gaining top level talent. Snead's full involved as a GM getting talent everywhere has transformed the Rams into a contending team.

The move to LA has helped too.

McVay looks to be the glue the Rams were so badly missing! I am cautiously optimistic but it will be exciting to see how far he can take the Rams. Improving (run defense, TE impact, more offensive TDs vs FGs, home field advantage, etc.) from last year will a huge step in the right direction.

Wade Phillips and Sean McVay.

Demoff had that vision. He was a big part of it.

Getting rid of Fisher over Eric Dickerson. Bringing back the Old Timers just adds to the culture.

Demoff said he would be comfortable with a coach like McVay as long as he had a exHC
as a coordinator which ended up being Wade.

The organization has done well in transition.

The trade up for Goff was not that expensive! Why do I constantly see this? First off a franchise QB is worth more IMO.
But the pain of traded picks was over in two years. It didn't hurt the team nearly as much as still being without a franchise QB would.
