I'd say the biggest difference between Ferguson and other rookie TEs is that the others aren't sharing reps/targets with 3 other TEs (Higbee, Parkinson, Allen) while playing with the heavily targeted Nacua & Adams.

I think it is still a year or two too soon for TFerg to be a major force. OTOH I wonder if the Rams are cooking up some major game plan schemes focusing on him in the playoffs and surprising the opponent's D, who expend their efforts on Puka and DA double-teams. Call it a Christmas fantasy ...
The Rams haven't had to force-feed Ferguson... so that's at least part of the lower production.
But it seems they've also been working him in to all parts of the position and that his blocking may be a stronger point of his game than anyone expected. I'm not disappointed or upset in anything I've seen from him and I forsee an excellent career.
