Because although he's talented and had a great year, delusional Pats fans forget their defense went from #24 to #4. They think he did it all by himself. Yet after his weak schedule once he got into the playoffs it was obvious the defense is the only reason they went to the SB.
Gotta admit it's pretty impressive he was able to get Pats to a Super Bowl...... He's in some pretty good company with the other seven second year QB's that made it to the Super Bowl.

The Pats have to feel pretty good about their future.

To me it looked like Maye was in over his head and got rattled, I look for him to improve after this experience. I don't know how much of that was on him or the coaches.

He didn't really get his team to the Superbowl. In the playoffs the Patriots averaged 1.12 points per drive. In 2017, the 0-17 Browns averaged better than that. Their D and luck in who they faced and when got them to the Superbowl.

But we were weren't. The reason being our secondary sucked, something you continue to deny.
Our secondary was average, and most of us accepted that would be the case. When Lake went down the defense continuity was visibly affected, the same for the offense when Adams went down.

In the end, what will be remembered is Matt Stafford won the MVP. Drake Maye didn't. If anybody brings up how close the vote was, they're either a Patriots fan (or niner fan), so either way, they don't know shit. Who remembers who finished 2nd in any MVP voting? BTW, haven't the Patriots now lost more SBs than any other team or did they simply extend that lead? I don't know!! :laugh4:

Yeah and I felt pretty good about our future with Goff.
