Hey, what is USC doing with all that money they received from Lori Loughlin & Mossimo Giannulli? When my wife and I were discussing this, she asked me what I thought and I told her I would have sent our daughter to Stanford for that kind of cash.

The price of doing business?? Risk vs reward.

It has become a sad state of morals & values ?? Seems like follow the leader ??

I think a couple USC guys on the roster & in FA market do & can help The Rams.

I say Fight on at the Colosseum

No. I think there were only 12 people who believed her and they were all on the jury.
The 12 people on the jury didnt believe her, but they couldnt find out HOW her daughter died so they couldnt pin her with murder.

Regardless, my point is women lie just as much as men can be pigs. Saying we should believe all women just bc they are a certain sex and these things happen, discounts all those times (even though they may be much more rare) of the opposite happening. This kind of accusation can ruin a persons life, even if found innocent. You say not believing every woman is calling them a liar, well believing that makes all men guilty. You cant have your cake and eat it too.

Best just to let this work its way out. Nothing wrong with acknowledging both points and staying quiet until the facts are presented.

You are clueless here.

It is BS to think every woman should be believed? That assumes every woman is lying.

What a knuckleheaded way to approach this!!!
What you are missing here and you do the same in every single thread like this is that both parties deserve the assumption of innocence until proven otherwise. An accuser is not to be automatically assumed to be truthful nor is the accused automatically thrown in jail.

Yes women lie about sexual assault, it happens and of course I know that, but it really is a small percentage. And I never claimed that they should be believed just because they are women but rather because the giant majority of claims are true, not false.

Your point is actually not correct, women do not lie about this type of thing nearly as much as you think. Essentially 90% of the time a woman comes forward it's true, something happened. There have been many studies done, and if you Google "what percentage of sexual assault allegations are not true" you'll find page after page after page of reports and studies and the percentage ranges on false accusations from 2-10% in every one.

So it's highly likely that what this women is claiming happened actually did happen. Could she be lying? Yes of course she could be lying. But the odds are long in favor that she isn't.

This is an interesting read. The same report just different layout. Here are a couple of bullet points. Though the format is not pasting right. The part about child abuse is bone chilling.

Rape is the most under-reported crime; 63% of sexual assaults are not reported to police (o). Only 12% of child sexual abuse is reported to the authorities (g). y The prevalence of false reporting is between 2% and 10%. For example, a study of eight U.S. communities, which included 2,059 cases of sexual assault, found a 7.1% rate of false reports (k). A study of 136 sexual assault cases in Boston found a 5.9% rate of false reports (j). Researchers studied 812 reports of sexual assault from 2000-03 and found a 2.1% rate of false reports (h).

It doesnt matter HOW MUCH it does or doesn't happen to be a false accusation, the fact is that it DOES happen. Not worth ruining someones life who may be in the "2%", by prematurely taking a side. If you still dont agree then we'll have to agree to disagree. I just hope this doesnt happen to you, brother.

Funny you mention that!

I had a former employee accused me of knowing an employee was harassing her and also that I was saying sexually suggestive things to her. It went nowhere.

So this isn't just an accusation, there is something there.
Les, you emphasized my posting of a FACT- that Rath is being charged with a misdemeanor, as though I was making an unfounded claim??? THEN, you skip past my words: MAY BE and accuse me of claiming that the woman is lying.

You unwittingly proved my point.

You feel that most claims of harassment and assault etc are false allegations?
Most? I dunno. I never said most. Many. Let’s go with many.

And by the way that turd Jussie Smollett didn't fake that attack to ruin someones life. What are you talking about?

That turd went all over the interview circuit, slandering half of the voting populace, and tried to stir up racial and homophobic mistrust between people, -Fake news. Trying to legitimize all the worst images of people’s motives. Kind of like what you are doing to several guys in this thread.

Vicki Podberesky, Rath’s attorney, reportedly pleaded not guilty on his behalf Friday, saying Rath is prepared to take the matter to trial.

Wow, Les. Rath sure is full of gall! Taking this to trial, and all, when according to you, THIS ISN’T JUST AN ACCUSATION, SO THERE IS SOMETHING THERE.

Maybe he should just plead out and get this gal some cash, huh?

Essentially 90% of the time a woman comes forward it's true, something happened

90%? Oh. Wow. Google it. TOTALLY reliable. Maybe do a Snopes fact check to reeeeeaally confirm it.

You are saying that you think it's untrue without a shred of evidence. Your making a conclusive statement then using the word "may" to walk it back slightly. You're making a claim that it is a scorned woman which is so big of a reach it's hard to understand. You're essentially claiming that HE is the victim of a woman who wanted him and he rejected her. Do you see how preposterous that sounds upon examination? And while it is certainly possible, most of the time that's just not the case. And in this instance we don't know anything other than charges have been filed. So this isn't just an accusation, there is something there.

I'm sorry but you are wrong. You feel that most claims of harassment and assault etc are false allegations? We know that isn't the case. All you have to do is Google search it and you will see that your wrong. And that many women never come forward because they figure people won't believe them. And yes you are exhibiting that automatic/reflexive lack of belief.

And by the way that turd Jussie Smollett didn't fake that attack to ruin someones life. What are you talking about?

Les, to be fair "Farr Be It" did use the qualifier "may". It seems to me that "Farr Be It" merely pointed out the possibility that the woman lied.

How do you know what "Farr Be It" is feeling and thinking?

Thanks. And more to the point, most of us have sisters, wives, daughters and moms and I’m sure you have brothers, sons and males in your life that you want to be treated fairly in society.

I don’t get the “battle of the sexes” mentality that attaches virtue to someone because of their xx or xy chromosome status.

It is usually someone with an agenda, or assuaging their own guilt that pound the table before the facts are hashed out.

The rest of us just want to love one another.

I had a former employee accused me of knowing an employee was harassing her and also that I was saying sexually suggestive things to her. It went nowhere.

Over the years I feel with my experience I take pride in always saying the right thing. Public Relations back ground, military, and so on, and I have always felt men stating such things proved how uneducated or uninformed they were...Respect all and the mistreatment of women has always bothered me as in my military days, we handled many domestic violence issues well before they were under a microscope and @LesBaker isn't wrong IMO....However, a few years ago I was working on a project with a young lady, who was more like a daughter (age reference) and I was very impressed with her abilities and other men I came across made comments, but as usual I was always above reproach something I preach, however, one day it happened.

On a Friday after working long hours and several other weekends, we were at the end of the project and the young lady asked me, "Den big plans for the weekend?" And my response was, "Just going to head to the lake with the family and spend some time on the boat." And she responded by saying..."I'd love to spend time on your boat." And the break in the ranks happened as without catching myself, I responded..."I wouldn't trust myself." Boom!

She laughed and in my head, I thought wow, you broke, WTF? Quickly changed the subject back to work and again she has become an integral part of the organization I work for and we have a great relationship, but I can't believe that happened and I realize this has nothing to do with the subject matter, but as I always wonder, why certain things happen, that comment will always bother me and BTW, never told my wife about the comment either because as much as I believe you should always be open, somethings are better left unsaid.

@Farr Be It directly out of the gate you shot her accusation down and called her a scorned woman. And as I pointed out that's why these types of things are so under-reported. The knee jerk reaction is what you posted. It's not an accurate or at all fair default position, quite the opposite actually. Check out the link I posted for you. It's eye opening and will help you see the truth.

I understand that high profile people like athletes and celebrities probably get falsely accused at a higher rate than average people but this isn't really the case here. He's a lower level staffer not a big time name.

Much of the time this comes down to hesaidshesaid because there is no witness. Which means it ends up being dismissed and then people assume the accuser was lying about the allegations and the accused was not guilty.

@den-the-coach your young friend knew your character so she wasn't going to make a big deal out of that.

And she's probably used to hearing worse unfortunately.

I tend to believe women when they say something has happened but I really, really wish they would throw the book at the ones who lie.

Hi, a woman here, and I've been a victim of sexual assault myself and I will say that no we shouldn't just "believe all women" Women lie too, women can be vindictive and manipulative, despite my experience I still trust men a hell of a lot more than I trust other women. I want justice for real victims of course but I think innocent until prove guilty still needs to be the status quo
