wonder if this is why he wasn't a part of the SB???

what does misdemeanor battery vs. a felony? He slapped her in the butt too hard and she didn't like it? I'm not trying to make a joke or anything but really how can battery be a misdemeanor and not a felony?

Uhhhh...sexual battery and misdameanor dont feel like they should belong together.

In my state, it would be grabbing a tit, smacking an ass, that kind of thing - but for the purpose of sexual gratification.

They said the SB was because he had to have a medical procedure but maybe that was just the story to limit questions at the time. Sounds like he got a little too grabby with the hands if it’s a misdemeanor. That sucks though.

Hey, I see get-back-coach as being a 24-7 job. I love what I do.”

Seriously. Look, if he did something wrong, by all means, prosecute. But, the fact that this is a misdemeanor tells me it may be a payback by a scorned woman, or an attempt at attention.

I think men and women deserve respect for their personhood, AND the presumption of innocence.

Peoples lives can be ruined with false accusations. Let’s see what happens here.

So grabbing a butt, or doing the bump and grind on the dance floor if uninvited, would qualify? Or would it me a more series act?

It will be interesting to see what happens. This could be legit or it could be someone thinking the Rams will buy his way out. I’d hate to lose him. Who’s going to pull McVay back from the field?

Grabbing a butt, yes. Grinding on the dance floor would have to be pretty egregious - it would be hard to prove it for sexual gratification under those terms.

The fact that it is a misdemeanor hasn't got a single thing to do with payback from a scorned woman or getting attention. If she wanted attention she would be grandstanding and making a spectacle. This happened weeks ago and she hasn't even released a statement.

It's a misdemeanor because that's what the law is, plain and simple.

It's also important to note two things here.

1. A large majority of the time the woman is telling the truth about sexual harassment, rape, groping and so on.

2. The reason why so many women don't come forward is because too many people have the same attitude that you do. Innocent until proven guilty is MILES away from calling the woman a liar.

And no I'm not saying false allegations are never made, but it is way, WAY less than real allegations.

Again

Presumption of innocence is the referring to the court of law, not pubic opinion — oops i mean public opinion

FYI the reason I have the feelings I do about this is because of my girlfriend. I've never been cool with guys crossing the line but she opened my eyes even more.

In college and even later she has had her ass grabbed or slapped more times than she can count. She has a fantastic booty, but that doesn't give some drunk asshole the right to grab it or make crude remarks. It's even happened as an adult. A few years back she was out of town for a legal certification class, she is a lawyer, and IIRC she was the only woman there. Now this is a group of professionals that are grown ups.

She got hit on by a few guys during the 3-4 days or whatever in a respectable fashion and when turned down they were polite about it. But she had a few other guys get crude and make remarks that were out of line.

No woman should have to listen to remarks about her body that are put out there in disrespectful and mean spirited fashion. And groping someone is worse.
