So what we're trying to say is that it was an alright pick, right? ;)

He's been beyond impressive.

Also consider the following:

1 How many snaps he has done this in. Not only 3 games left but wasn't a starter at the beginning of the season. Can someone tells us his snap count compared to the others on the chart above?

2 How good he has been vs the run.

3 how many QB pressures he has also had.

4 The sacks he has lost out on because of our other great pass rushers getting the sack.

Donald has just been dominate.

That's crazy, Donald is an absolute monster on the field. He's going to be an elite DT for a long time, and he's only going to get better.

That's why I got his jersey

I Tweeted him that and he favorited it. It made my day :shades:

Again, look how they are counting .. . Donald has 7 sacks, they show 7.5. They show 10 tackles, but Stats, LLC shows 9. This is because Donald has 8 solo tackles for loss and 2 where another player shared in the tackle for loss (stuff). So, it's a different accounting method.

In this case, since they are doing it the same for all players, it makes no difference. By any standard or accounting method Donald is doing extremely well.

Others of note, prior to 1998

1984 Dan Hampton 9 and 11.5 sacks for 20.5
1985 Klecko 8.5 amd 7.5 for 16
1987 HenryThomas 12 and 2.5 for 14.5
1988 Henry Thomas 11 and 6 for 17
1988 Jerome Brown 9 and 5 for 14
1989 Jerome Brown 17 and 10.5 for 27.5
1989 Jerry Ball 14 and 9 sacks for 23
1989 Michael Dean Perry 7 and 11.5 for 18.5
1989 Keith Millard 11 and 21 for 32
1990 Michael Dean Perry 12 and 11.5 for 23.5
1990 Ray Childress 11 and 8 for 19
1991 Michael Dean Perry 11 and 8.5 for 19.5
1991 Henry Thomas 11 and 8 for 19
1991 Jerome Brown 9 and 9 for 18
1992 Cortez Kennedy 12.5 and 14.5 for 26.5
1992 Henry Thomas 9 and 6 for 15
1992 Michael Dean Perry 9 and 6 for 15
1992 Ray Childress 6.5 and 13 for 19.5
1993 Chestger McGlockton 15 and 7 for 22
1993 Michael Dean Perry 14 and 6 for 20
1994 Eric Swann 11.5 and 7 for 18.5
1995 D'Marco Farr 11 and 11.5 for 22.5
1995 Chester McGlockton 11 and 7.5 for 18.5
1995 eric Swann 8 and 8.5 for 16.5
1996 Sapp 9 and 7.5 for 16.5
1997 Jim Flanigan 13 and 6 for 19
1997 Bill Johnson, Rams 15 and 4 for 19
1998 LeRoi Glove 10 and 12.5 for 22.5

Not complete, . .but these are some other good examples of players making plays behind LOS from DT spot.

All research was my own, took my an embarrassingly long time, but the basis I used is here:

Holy smoke . . . that is a lot of work. trust me, I know. Stats LLC has that data since 1992 or so, but it's not complete . . .you have to subsrcibe to get all of it. But for some guys you can still find it.

For example, for for stuffs, they round it. so 6 may actually be 5.5

For a DT Larry Brooks, 1976, 14.5 sacks and 12.5 stuffs for 27. Merlin Olsen had several of 19-20-21 or so.

in 1973 Jack Youngblood 13.5 stuffs (11 solo and 5 shared) plus 16.5 sacks, for 30.

But . . from 1964-68 Deacon Jones had over 30 every year and 24 in 1969

I think by the time Donald is done he will be the player that a good up in coming DT is compared to.The same way fans and media alike compare Donald to W.Sapp or G.Atkins now he will definitely leave his mark on the game.
