I like some Eminem. I even like a song or to from NWA, but in general it doesn't feel like music. The music today is all Hip Hop and Pop. Lots of filtered digitally enhanced crap. Give me music with a good guitar solo and wicked drums. Good soul or Motown.

There's a specific standard that people expect, but from people who oversee individuals, not rappers likely using their own emails.

I will agree that there's a lot of misogyny and homophobia from a lot of music I listen to, but that's why I pay more attention to songs than artists.

True, but again, I separate artists from songs; I admittedly have an R Kelly song on my iPhone that I love. It's harder for me to separate sports players because I cheer for the team, and it's hard when members of the team embarrass the team and, therefore, the fans. It's easier with songs.
