I’m wary. Bought from a scalper outside an NBA game and that went fine, but no recourse if you get scammed. Still, it’s tempting to just head to Atlanta and see what I can find outside the stadium.
If I go, no hotel for me. I’ll drive in Sunday morning and drive home after the game. About 6 hours for me each way. Long day, but it would be worth it.
Has anyone ever bought from a scalper at the Super Bowl? Any tips?
Scary stuff though when you are talking four figures. And I missed half of the 1st qtr last week and still had to pay four bills. Yes, it's going to be your cheapest option but it sure cramps your tailgating, pre game enjoyment when you are not sure you are going to be able to get in to the game and at that point, it would be too late to get somewhere to watch on TV in the Super Bowl city. I guess it depends on how big of a fanatic you are and how well you can take missing some of the Super Bowl when your lifelong favorite team is playing. Thanks for the tips. They are all good advice for those who have the intestinal fortitude. I'm stressing already!I actually sent a PM to the admins asking if I could start a thread about buying from scalpers because I hate to see these brokers ripping people off and charging crazy fees. So instead of that I'll impart some knowledge right here. Many brokers, most probably, have guys on the ground they send tickets to since not many sales happen the day before or day of a game.
If you are going by yourself that helps because scalpers usually have a handful of single seats and people that are with a friend prefer to sit together so the single tickets are harder to sell.
I've never scalped at a SB, but I have scalped in a few different cities with both NBA and NFL games. Regular and post season. I flew into STL many, many times without a ticket and I always got good seats at a nice discount. I went to the Herdfest (Signman123 and his family are awesome) and even had a couple of people show up without tickets and I got them some from a scalper too.I ended up sitting with a couple of cool guys over the years.
I've never had a problem and only once paid face value, but they were premium seats and I wanted them.
Here are some pro tips for you and anyone else.
Bring a seating chart, or use the venues website on your phone so you can see where your seats are. Hit up several scalpers for prices and engage them, be polite and respectful. They are used to people being assholes to them and grinding them on the price, so a little kindness will go a long way. Tell each one "remember me I will probably come back". When you walk away say thank you and shake their hand.
When the crowd starts walking in as the game is ready to start scalpers get desperate and start dropping their prices because time is running out for them. It's a risk you take and you may not get the best seats because they may have sold those, but they don't want to go home with ANY tickets in hand, they want cash, so they will cut deals. Go back and find the guys you talked to and see what they are willing to do. You should be able to score yourself a good deal.
You may miss the first few minutes of the game, I did once. But I usually got tickets for half price off face value, sometimes not quite that. At these prices that's a lot of money.
If you have any questions ask away..........by the way I never got a bogus ticket.

Tickets certainly on the rise again. This is gutting. Don't think i'I'll have the stomach to wait until game day for fear of missing out. I'm gonna end up paying through the nose in the next day or two
It sure is and you can amp that up 1000% when it's the Super Bowl. When you wear your fandom on your sleeve, it makes it a little too much when you might be talking about a once in a lifetime opportunity. I need some fingernail guards before I draw blood! :shocking:It's a lot of money, and that's why I wanted to share my success..........I hate the freaking brokers and what they do to fans of entertainers and sports teams. It's really freaked up. It's also a part of why home field advantage in the NFL is shifting. Tickets and game day costs are the other big driver.
It's nerve racking the first couple of times that you do it but then it's nothing.

Tell me about it. I paid $693 service charge. It's criminal but I guess this is their "Black Friday" event. The NFL is in cahoots I believe.I concur. I steer away from brokers at all costs. Its the point of the matter. It wasnt too bad when it was buying out of the want adds. But with these site fees adding to the pain....nah. Never.
Dilly Dilly!
Yeah, two days in a row. I got worried when I started seeing all the Upper deck tickets I had my eyes on vanishing and prices going up. The best deals or bang for your buck right now may be going up in price a little to find undervalued seats that are much better. At least you would have better seats but damn it takes a chunk out of your ass right where your wallet sits. Good luck! The ticket I bought was $500 more than the last tickets I had my eyes on but it does come with a Pre Game Party ticket where you eat and drink free for 3 hours. Primesport.comTickets certainly on the rise again. This is gutting. Don't think i'I'll have the stomach to wait until game day for fear of missing out. I just bit the bullet and bought a ticket from Primesport.com. It comes with a 3 hr pre party with unlimited food items and drinks (BEER!!!!) The only bummer is they were selling Rams pre party tickets but you have to dig into the website to see it. Tried to get it changed but they said team parties are already booked up so off I go to the generic one. I'll turn it into a RAMS party any damn way!!!!!!!!!!
I paid $693 service charge
so wait..if a ticket price says 2800...does that include the service fee? or is the service fee on top of that?
either way...F that...I will enjoy the game in the comfort of my own home, with cheap beer and halftime sex
It's the Super Bowl man. Go for expensive beer and cheap sex!with cheap beer and halftime sex
Dude....handjob?I wouldn't pay that for a ticket and a halftime handjob from a hooker.
