My suggestion? Represent LA righteously with street tacos. Al pastor is my favorite, but asada is another winner. Makes my mouth water just writing this
Al Pastor is my favorite as well. However, good Al pastor is hard to find.
King taco does it incredibly well.
There is also a place near me that does it well.
I've tried it all over So Cal and most places just dont do it well.

crap dude. I take the lazy route. I just get the puerco already to go from a Mexican butcher. You can also get some at Cardenas or Superior if you're as lazy as me.

I honestly don't know the recipe, and every town in Mexico has a different recipe, but as you know,it's gotta gave the pineapple. It's usually on top of the pork on the spit, and the juices run down and sink in for that lovely heavenly final touch. Damn my mouth's watering.

You're the man. I salute you for doing it yourself!

P.S. I'll ask my buddy if his mom or abuelita have a recipe. Mo later.
I'll be right here waiting :)

I'm going to be BBQ'ing a couple tri-tips around one o'clock. Should be done by 2:30 or 3:00. We're cutting up the meat to make steak nachos. Other than that just the usual chips and dips with some salami and cheese. And Bud Light.

Just found out that my father in law invited over friends and family with the idea that I would be there to help make Gumbo - apparently I did well last week.

I feel bad but I (my wife) respectfully told him that we wouldn't be watching the game with anybody else.

Alternative is maybe we'll go over on Super-Eve and help him make some Gumbo to accommodate his guests.

I'll not be around others during the game. If it goes poorly I'll be horrible company. If it goes well I'll be yelling and dancing too much to be good company. I'll make some dish for myself - I'm thinking Jambalaya - yes, it's New Orleans food but it's easy and delicious, and will keep for days. That or chili - same advantages.

Any particular kind? My 'no one touch this bottle' is 16 year Lagavullin. My Pop and I each had some after we beat the Aints.

SLÁINTE!

Dalmore 18. Lagavullin is a little peaty and smoky for my tastes, I prefer a Highland malt to an Island one.

Well, now I'm going to have to try it. Peaty and smoky are right up my alley. I usually drink Laphroaig, quarter cask. It's got those same characteristics.

I've read about so many scotches and have tried several. I always end up back at my favorite, and coincidentally the first one I've ever bought a full bottle of 20 years ago. They can really be different. I saw Talisker getting rave reviews. so I got some and I was disappointed that I wasted my money.

So....the official food of Los Angeles is street tacos? Roach coach, taco truck tacos?

Truth be told....Cant say I'd ever argue against an obscurely located taco truck.

I am so different than you guys. I will eat nothing.
My wife might be here but she knows when to stay and when you leave. She pops her head in and looks at the score and makes her decision at that point.
Last week she popped her head in when it was 13-3 and I didn't see her again until the fieldgoal. Lol

We usually order wings and get a veggie tray, crackers, cheese and make a main coarse of meat, like ham, steak, roast etc,...

I'm going to have to give this some thought. It would be nice to do something different. I made an amazing honey mustard chicken a few weeks ago. That may be a consideration.

 I think they're called street tacos because that’s how you normally find them in Mexico. Usually sold on street side stands. Here in California though, they’re almost all found in restaurants or backyard parties.

And they’re called ‘food trucks,’ not roach coaches :sneaky: Keep up, buddy. :p
