I think the Wilson trade will go down as the worst all time trade in history based upon early showings. Of course, that somewhat depends on what the hags do with the haul of picks they got. They also got a few useful players in the trade; Shelby Harris DT, and Fant TE. Both of which have contributed to the hags solid season. They get a top 5 pick this year and a 5th, a likely top 5 pick next year and a 2nd next year. Good lord what a haul for a terrible QB.

This could lead to the hags being good for years to come, which is not cool
I always really, really liked Shelby Harris' game.
Really wanted the Rams to sign him when he was last a FA.....didnt cost much either.

I agree find out the best blocking TE and draft him later although would love to get Darnell Washington of Georgia, but he'll go too high based on upside.

I think here is our guy.

8. BREVYN SPANN-FORD, MINNESOTA (RS SENIOR | 6-7, 270)

  • 2022 Grade: 90.6
  • Play Style: Inline People Mover
  • Initial Round Projection: Early Day 3
You want a run-blocker in this class? Spann-Ford is your man. He’s nearly an offensive tackle, and with how well he moves at his size, it may be in his best financial interest to consider a move to the position. That’s because he’s never going to be a dynamic threat with the ball in his hands to warrant a big-money deal. But what he can do is erase smaller edge defenders in the run game. His 82.8 run-blocking grade ranked third in the FBS this season and his 13 big-time blocks led the nation.

Get him with our 3rd round comp pick (that we will get for Morris being hired as a head coach - yes I am hoping - maybe he will go to Denver lol)

That actually would be an excellent hire for the Broncos IMHO.

Anyone else feel like this game may have benefited McVay and the offense moving forward as a whole as much as Baker?
I saw a lot of good things in the design of the run game along a more compact passing attack taking advantage of what was available on a play by play basis.

Rams seemed to use a lot more two-TE formations yesterday; and the above confirms that.

Some of us were calling for more 12 Personnel sets several weeks ago as Kupp and our WR corps was falling to injury. I'd still like to see Roger Carter brought up and used before the season ends.

Agreed.

I'm happy the Rams decided to catch the opponents passes when they hit them in the hands.
I'm also happy they sacked Wilson repeatedly.

As for Scheme? Didn't notice anything significantly different.. they just went out and beat ass.

Durant is interesting.. he made some plays early... has been injured a bit... and can't really tackle. But.. he sure does have some ball skills.
I saw more 5 man rushes and tighter coverage.

Still off the line the vast vast majority.
The Rams and Morris have blitzed plenty all season.. I couldn’t tell you if it was more or less.. don’t have those advanced stats.

The coverage was much better… Durant was a big part of that.

AND…. Look … Denver’s offense sucks balls.

Notice that Kendrick only played 6 snaps.

Morris finally figured out that Kendrick is not a good outside CB

The fact that Morris continues to favor Kendrick over Durant simply validates what I've been saying for months that Morris doesn't give a damn about talent. He's going to play his buddies. Like what he said last year, he doesn't give a damn what people think. That is why he will never be a successful HC. Who wants a "good enough" HC? Who wants a good enough DC? Only the Rams apparently. Taking a #1 ranked defense and immediately dropping it to a number 18th ranked unit would be enough to get fired by any HC.

Been posting that for a while and again, no excuse for playing him. It simply baffles me. Kendrick made a huge mistake not tackling the WR after the catch letting him run out of bounds and thus giving the Broncos 3 points stopping the clock. Kendrick is not good in any phases of the game IMHO.

The trade combined with the immediate extension is the worst FO move in NFL history.

Oh IDK about that, I'm sure there have been worst moves. Now if Wilson is truly done and it doesn't get better, it will rank up there, but it's hard to unseat the Minnesota Vikings trading 5 players & 6 draft picks for Herschel Walker.

At least Hershel Walker performed for Minnesota. Wilson has laid a complete egg. The question now is whether a part of that is the coaching/system. But Wilson looked way slower moving in the pocket than he did a few years ago in Seattle. I think all the hits he took has caught up with him.
