Still these numbers do n't sound great. Not sure he could beat out our top 4 Edges guys at this point.

Steelers released OLB James Harrison.
Harrison has been a 2017 non-factor, playing just 29 snaps in five appearances. He was active once over the last seven weeks. Harrison's spot was needed with RT Marcus Gilbert returning from suspension. Harrison's release could allow him to resurface on a playoff team that's willing to give him a role. Dec 23 - 3:00 PM

I'd kick the tires for sure. This is a playoff run we're talking about, not the offseason.

I'm good with our young guys. But I wouldn't be surprised if Wade is talking to McVay about bringing in Harrison. Fresh bodies on the front 7 is always a good thing.

All those years with the Steelers... cut before the playoffs?

That’s cold.

Or... Harrison has voiced some discontent?

I'd take a look at him . He has experience and could be good for a young team heading to the playoffs.

Here is part of an article about how he keeps his body.
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...-harrison-spends-350000-per-year-on-bodywork/

Ageless Steelers linebacker James Harrison spends $350,000 per year on bodywork.

  • An acupuncturist
  • A dry-needling person
  • A trainer
  • A doctor
  • A natural path doctor
  • A masseuse
  • A masseur
  • Another masseur
  • A physio-chiro masseur
  • Another chiropractor

There is an interview with Andrea Kramer in the article where talks about this...He will be 40 years old and was the oldest player in the league.

I imagine he still has some HGH in the medicine cabinet.

FIFY both hahaha.

Some years back when he and the Steelers were at the top there was an SI article about the team doc. He was feeding the team all the HGH they wanted. He got caught in a sting after buying something like 100K worth of HGH and when confronted he said it was for his patients in a clinical trial he was in the midst of. The trial had like a dozen people in it and he was holding enough HGH for something like 300 people in normal dosages.

It got swept under the rug in a hurry, but the article is still available online. In todays environment the Steelers and the doc would have gotten in big trouble. Like the "doc" down here that was feeding ARod and others..........from an "anti-aging clinic".

I'm not against HGH, in proper doses its very beneficial. But athletes aren't taking it in normal doses since that provides no real benefit for someone in their 20's and 30's. It's against the rules, but undetectable with the current methods used by the NFL. That won't change until the league stops testing for weed, that'll be the trade off between the union and the league. The union has never even let HGH testing get on the table because they know a huge portion of the players are taking tons of it.

Anyway I dislike Harrison because he is a dirty fuck, and I will never forgive him for the cheap shots he put on two Browns players some years back. He was headhunting the entire game. It was really fucked up.

I would HATE to see that POS coat-tail to a SB on this roster. Fuck that, fuck him, fuck no.

Crazy post imo. — wow ? Have you been watching The Rams defense play ?

Let’s sit Aaron Donald or Robert Quinn

Huh? He would be a situational pass rusher for the playoffs. Not taking someone’s starting spot lol

No waiver claims for James Harrison

Linebacker James Harrison is officially a free agent.

Waived on Saturday by the Steelers, Harrison went unclaimed on waivers, via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Any team could have claimed Harrison’s contract, with the player ultimately being awarded based on priority driven by the reverse priority of teams, from worst to first. Some had speculated that the Patriots would claim Harrison. Others thought the Ravens would.

In the end, no one did. Which means he can re-sign with the Steelers as soon as tomorrow, if they want him. And if he wants them.

Harrison, 39, has appeared in only five games this season, with no starts and only one sack. He was cut to create a roster spot for tackle Marcus Gilbert, who had completed a four-game suspension for violating the PED policy.

Pharmaceutical hgh on the black market is about 1k-2k per pack which would last you about 3 months on doses a little more than normal prescribed doses. To have any real effect on performance, hgh has to be ran almost year round consistanly. So 100k isnt all that much depending on how much you're using and how long and def not enough for 300 people.

Patriots cut Trevor Reilly to make room for James Harrison

The Patriots cut linebacker Trevor Reilly to make room for veteran linebacker James Harrison.

Reilly, 29, joined the New England practice squad on October 12, and the Patriots promoted him to the active roster October 25. He played in six games, with one start, and made six tackles on defense and four on special teams.

Reilly spent time on the Patriots’ practice squad in 2016 before signing with the Dolphins last December. He played in two regular-season games and one postseason game with Miami last year.

He began this season on the Dolphins’ practice squad before they cut him October 9.

Reilly originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick of the Jets in 2014.

Former Steelers DE Harrison signs with Patriots

Steeler Nation's worst nightmare has become reality: James Harrison is a New England Patriot.

Fresh off his release from the Pittsburgh Steelers, the veteran linebacker visited Gillette Stadium on Tuesday and later signed with New England.

Harrison confirmed the signing with an Instagram post on Tuesday before the Patriots made an official announcement.

The Patriots had not made a waiver claim on Harrison, who was cut by Pittsburgh on Saturday to make room for tackle Marcus Gilbert‘s return, but will add him to the roster ahead of the playoffs. The signing could make for an interesting reunion between Harrison and Pittsburgh should the Patriots and Steelers meet in the AFC championship game.

Before the deal was finalised, Harrison was mulling other options around the league, including a return to the Steelers. Pittsburgh, though, realised Harrison could be scooped up by New England, Tennessee or Baltimore.

Harrison, 39, recorded one sack in five games this season but saw his playing time significantly reduced as the Steelers turned to rookie linebacker T.J. Watt and third-year linebacker Bud Dupree. Harrison remains Pittsburgh's all-time leader with 80.5 career sacks. To make room for Harrison, the Patriots released linebacker Trevor Reilly.

The Steelers and Patriots each secured a bye through to the divisional round, though New England can clinch home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs with a win over the Jets in their regular-season finale on Sunday.

@I like Rams You can Google it, his name is Richard Rydze.

Here is one article, there are a few and that team has a culture of doping and providing PED's for the players.

It was an ESPN article not an SI article. There are others out there.

FYI the street value was over 1MIL bucks.

Not doubting that it happened, just that the math didnt add up. Street value for hgh is lower than getting it from a doc, which is why many people go that route to begin with.
