He's been my favorite corner also, but, him not running a 40 and having a bad short shuttle has me a bit worried. I feel like it might have some in the NFL worried also. Add in the injury concerns.
Maybe the 40 and shuttle were due to he is just 6 months removed from surgery, duh. Would still consider at 26 as long as he is on schedule with his rehab

When the Rams go to pick my opinion on whom they’ll prefer
1) TE Loveland
2) LB Campbell
3) CB Barron
4) WR Golden or Burden
If they’re gone and Rams stay at 26 they will choose from CBs Hairston, Revel, and Amos, in my opinion. Though I’m hardly ever right.

Whatever logic rabbit hole you'd have to go down to make yourself okay with Taylor or Ferguson(!) at 26 is exactly what we've been avoiding to draft as well as we have been.

If your guy at tight end isn't there you move around the board to another position and take the best player available.

Good chance Ferguson or similar will be there at 90.
I am assuming that you saying Ferguson will be there at 90 is because your reference for this, which is reading media sites, has consistently listed Ferguson as a third round-ish option. But these sites do not encompass the opinions of any of the teams, and it only takes one team to draft him to make that not true.

For the Rams specifically, which to my eye is a big slot weapon who can plug in right away and body defenders while Stafford feeds him to move the chains... Not every TE is a fit. Some of these guys are gonna be more inline types. The ones who have pass game threat and polish tend to go off the board by round 2.

The Rams board for filling that specific role I would imagine goes something like Warren > Loveland > Arroyo > Taylor > Ferguson > Fannin > Gadsden. After Gadsden you're operating on hopes and dreams of guys with some tools developing things they have not yet consistently put up on film. I haven't watched every TE in this draft, granted, but I've watched everything I can on many of them, and those are the dudes who look like they can plug in to this offense. The Nebraska kid maybe deserves to be listed, I do like him very much, but he's got a bum knee which to me is a no-go.

Of those listed above Warren & Loveland are probably off the board by 20. Meaning you will have teams looking for pass threat from that position considering Arroyo and Taylor. And I have Arroyo over Taylor because he is extremely fluid in space. The boy has skills. But teams are going to be into Taylor and Ferguson by round 2 in my estimation, and I doubt either makes round 3. Only reason Fannin makes round 3 is because he had a subpar Senior Bowl week (they moved him around, granted, like backfield usage) and then ran a very average 40 time, which I think given his size he needed a good 40 to compete with the boys up top in this class. From there you have Gadsden who rubs me the wrong way in his run blocking, I don't think he's particularly willing which to me is a big fucking concern even for a pass game threat TE.

So maybe I'm wrong. We will see soon thank fuck. But I think Ferguson is underrated given positioning on media boards. What he offers is going to be valuable to teams.

Both the TE, Golden and Barron IMO are gone. I want nothing to do with an ilb or rb in the first. That said

Amos
Egbuka
Benjamin Morrison
Josh Simmons if he falls
Jalen Milroe

That 5 is if Golden and Barron don't fall to us.

Nice accounting of things.

Boy, I think Arroyo might be the highest ceiling of all the guys in the class but worry about the medicals. Guy has all the athleticism in the world and you can see the reasons why he's got untapped potential given his medical history robbing him of snaps.

I'm so ready for the draft as well lol but yes this is the logic rabbit hole I was referencing. If Warren or Loveland aren't there at 26 I don't think there's any reason to zero in on only the tight end position. I'm pulling my hair out if we take Taylor or Ferguson over a WR like Egbuka or a CB like Barron.

But yes, Arroyo is a dude with special traits if healthy, Taylor has some movement skills that make him enticing as a big slot, and I've spoken enough about Fannin. Ferguson's ball skills and lack of fight/physicality just give me Brycen Hopkins vibes and I don't think anybody could reach his level of uselessness but the pre-draft comparison is hard to ignore. Say no to Gadsden if that's what you're thinking and just take a big WR because there won't be much of a difference blocking anyway. Anyway the TEs I actually do like in this draft could be targets at some point with a trade up in the 3rd or maybe somebody falls to 90. I'm not ringing the alarm if we don't get one, though.

Were you pounding the table for Hurts? Plus Kiffin left for Ole Miss in 2019 & Tua was drafted in 2020.

Yeah -Kiffin was at Florida int then.
Sark & Kiffin sort had a weird cycle at Bama. They both hard Hurts together.
Sark had Tua his senior season.

I always liked Hurt better than Tua & think he got screwed.I was Banging the Table for trading up for Johnathan Taylor!!

Once that didn’t happen I wanted Hurts with 1 of the 2 2nd rd picks.
The Rams had there chance & could have drafted both he & Cam Akers IMO ? Jefferson went to The Rams only a couple picks back.
-Then there was Lewis.

2020 draft really STUNK !!

I don't see lack of fight for the ball in Ferguson's game. He's a big target with good hands who can stretch the seams, threaten on wheels, and possess over the middle. Knock on him is blocking, but to his credit he's not unwilling. I don't mind disagreeing on this, we're not gonna all see dudes the same.

So he chooses to do the test that is likely harder on his injured foot/hamstring (which has been cleared by dr's or he wouldn't have done a thing)? A potential thought is, he did it because it was his best athletic score when practicing, which is scary.

Loved that the duh needed to included BTW....

Of course. Do you see TE other than Warren/Loveland at 26 as moreso something you would do or what you think the Rams will do knowing McVay/Snead's tendencies?

I figure they are both mid to late first rounders who will go top half of day one due to low quality at the top.

I think McVay wants a TE but the two who should slot near us are off the board. So my guess is most likely they look to move down.

But I also figure QB is possible because you cannot assume the one you like, if any, are going to go off where they should. Teams are too desperate for them. Trade down may precede that as well. Or if they really love one of them just reach.

I think Les is the force of trying to position for value. Whereas McVay is the force of who they covet.

Yeah that was an all-time bad draft considering the ammo of having two 2nd's and two 3rd's. Of course some elements of that class did help them win a ring. Akers had a few moments, some good some bad in that run. Hopkins came up huge in the SB. Jefferson had a decent season, even though he was invisible in the SB.
