The Seahawks are in fine shape, they're just being held back by Wilson and his selfish play. They should trade him now, let Geno finish the season. He showed against the Rams that he can move the ball. Petey knows what he's doing, and should be in full control. I mean his genius led to the greatest call in SB history by ignoring Beast mode....

I agree for the most part, although Pete really fucked up when he let Brian Schottenheimer escape. Their offense went from being a juggernaut to merely very good after that.

Really? Don't they usually start on fire (aka "Let Russ Cook") and then peter out as the season goes on?

Trading and giving that much up for Adams is one of the dumbest moves a franchise has made in recent memory, and I'm just glad it was a division rival and not us. That trade alone is going to cost them a lot in the next few years.
Pete probably thought that he could motivate Adams to become a good coverage free safety. That contract is redonkulous

Yeah actually upon review they do tend to start out pretty well, they also tend to finish strong too. Guess I just have a false memory of them always being in some trouble at the midway point of the season. Of course looking at W's and L's doesn't tell the full story either.

They've only petered out once, 2017, also the only time in the Wilson era that they've missed the playoffs. The "let Russ Cook" stuff was just one season, 5-0 to start.

If I'm the GM I would trade Wilson for Watson before the deadline. QB is good at that point and I don't have to risk missing on some dipshit in the draft. Also Watson would appreciate being the F out of Houston and would endure a rebuild, whereas asking Wilson to endure a rebuild is asking for drama.

Then I'd tell Carroll to fire his OC and the next hire goes through me. It would need my approval and if Carroll doesn't like it then quit. I assume he'd be ok with it though because his OC hires have been fucked up. No way I'd let him get out of my office without that being out in the open.

At that point the offense looks solid. Priority would be OL for them in the draft.

Defensively they have some good pieces and I'd let Carroll do his thing. Though I would strongly suggest he look for a DC too. They have been weak on X's and O's for some time on both sides of the ball and in this division that is a death sentence.

They're cooked.
With Wilson's injury.. the awful roster has been exposed and the Adams trade is catastrophic. It's one thing to trade two firsts for Jalen Ramsey and have a superstar you build around.. but to completely whiff on trading two firsts?? That's mismanagement of the highest order.
Time to blow it all up and start over. Fire Pete and Schneider... Trade Russ and start over.

I just love this kind of statement by knucklehead fans:

"I was willing to give the Seahawks until the end of this game to make a judgement on the season, and thus the employment status of the coaching staff and front office,"

That's nice. Now go back to your Madden 21.

This was a good one too.

"I understand having to give up big money for an elite QB…

But
selling off #1s on top of it is a recipie for.disaster."

McSnead say hi.

Funny how things work out, the west was supposed to be a bloodbath with everyone beating up on each other, now 2 of the contenders are in real trouble. You can make up ground with division games but their margin for error is about zero which warms my heart on these chilly fall nights.

The way I see it how we almost lose games to teams that have bad records we still shouldn’t take these guys lightly. I rather us fix our teams problems first before playoffs.

More I think about it I gotta say Metcalf is a question mark too tbh. He's a great player already but guys who think they're better than everyone else and throw tantrums and shit are cancer to a locker room.

I would probably try to package his ass for max return and move him too. I couldn't stand watching that dude do his thing on gameday frankly it's already disgusting and will likely get worse.

They need cornerbacks. More durable runningbacks. Carroll thinks he found the next Beast mode in Carson. Carson isn't as tough as Lynch. Agreed on Oline.

Isn't it unusual that a GM would choose the coordinators? Does that ever happen? Regarding Pete's trends. His last OC hire is just like some of his last draft picks. I think he has this idea to copy McVay and must have Intel on who the Rams like in the draft. Two years in a row he took guys rumored to be high on the Rams list. I say this because I don't believe he's a goid talent evaluator. I think he knows it too. I lost all respect for Pete when I read about his corny attempt to ambush Peyton Manning at an event in San Francisco, believing he could talk Payton into coming to Seattle. This after he already had Wilson and after Manning said no to him previously. It was very amateurish and desperate. Pete's gotta go.

Talking heads are at fault. How many of us hear scratched our heads at the top ten rankings of the Niners and Shehawks in the preseason? I recall a lot of us, most of us, who actually watch the games and aren't trying to pander to certain fan bases saying they were ranked too high.

Rodgers is a good example. He praised Seattle and San Francisco in the preseason and now is ridiculing them. I love Cowherd's show but he isn't worth listening to until about 5 weeks into the season when he has some hard facts.

Crazy Russell Wilson trade that nearly happened in 2018, per Dan Patrick

Following their 0-17 season over the 2017 campaign, the Browns were looking for a quarterback to build their team around. Even as they were well projected to take Baker Mayfield with the No.1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, then Browns general manager John Dorsey had an eye on trading for Wilson.

In this trade that came close to being completed, Patrick noted that the Seahawks would have received the No.1 overall pick in return and would have selected former Wyoming star Josh Allen.

Patrick further added that Wilson was “open” to joining the Browns, which would have come following his standout 34 passing touchdowns campaign in 2017.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider made for one questionable move ahead of the draft when he attended Josh Allen’s Wyoming pro day. Schneider noted afterward that he simply wanted to “go check him out,” but this caused some confusion within Wilson’s camp to the point where they called the Seahawks front office to inquire on just why he went out to watch Allen’s pro day.

Overall, this what-if trade sure is an intriguing one, as the Seahawks would have jumpstarted a rebuilding process around Allen while the Browns would have had a versatile quarterback at their disposal.

While Wilson is currently in his ninth season with Seattle, it is not a guarantee he will feature with the team next season, especially as he was reportedly open to a trade in the offseason.

Thus, in the unpredictable world of the NFL, one can not count out the possibility of Wilson soon donning a Browns jersey.
