Void years through 2034??
Nah, it shows 2027 as his FA year and it's his void year. There are cap charges in 28' and 29'. So maybe they are considered void years as well.

The void years are simply spreading out the signing bonus to 5 years they happen with any contracts shorter than 5 years with a signing bonus if the team wants to do it to lessen the cap hit. Not sure why they show void years for that long with no money attributed to it because the bonus can only be spread over a max of 5 years.

Rodgers playing again at 42. Here's hoping at 38, Stafford has at least a couple good years left.

I'm sorta surprised he came back.
He had some success, but he looked like a shell of himself and very scared to get hit when I watched him.

I know he's already said he's coming back. But I'd really like to have a signing announcement soon ...

Im guessing Stafford has some say especially after an MVP season but perhaps that’s just me
:)
He had his say and said he's coming back. Is he under contract or not?

It's simple to me he's said he's coming back. He's under contract. And most importantly he was at OTAs. Is any of that not accurate?

They can extend him and give him a raise sure. But that doesn't change any of the above.

The handoff to Simpson is such an unknown.

Whenever Stafford is thinking it’s his final year, it will probably be a health based decision. I don’t see him hanging around when his ability starts to wane.

It sure would be nice to avoid more void years with Stafford so we can ride a few years of a rookie contract.

Signing for what? An extension? He's already signed for the year.
They announced prior to the draft that he was close to an extension. Since the draft it has been crickets. Would just like to see this put to bed soon.

Whether he is signed or not, those talks were going on publicly and have not been closed.

It’s sort of funny to think like Bonify’d was reporting Stafford was going to retire back in 2023. Maybe it was the not dead guy ?

That was the next season after the Superbowl team.AD99 was retired,I think even Kupp was hurt as well.Baker was on the team & Van Jefferson has a TD winning catch against the Raiders ???

It was Kelly who was reporting from some, saying he was going to retire. Then here comes PUKA !!! The question now is how long is Nacua going to be a RAM ??? Who actually knows??

IMO this will be Mattew Stafford last season.Maybe as a Ram ?? D.Adams will play a little part as well. The 12 personnel may increase his career because of the protection it will give him ??

A Superbowl (WIN) will see him go into the LA Sunset like AD99 for sure.

So nothing i said wasn't accurate got it. It just hasn't been announced as fast as you want so its become an issue even though there hasn't been any talked about by anyone involved.

So by the time Simpson's ready to take over he'll be a 30 year old with no wear and tear on the body?

The longer Stafford keeps Simpson's ass on the bench, the better. If Stafford is still playing for us going into Simpson's 4th year that would have to mean we've won a Super Bowl or two, I reckon....
