Stafford has never been held out like this before. I’m sorry but you guys are delusional if you think this is normal.
Definitely not normal. So it is concerning, though if Stafford has to play himself into form over the first month, well, we've endured that before.

Bigger issue is the unknown at LT. Also concerning is that both Jackson and Stafford were inked or paid only to immediately have medical issues. Or maybe "goddamn irritating" is more appropriate than "concerning" on that front. :laugh2:

Patience my fellow die hard Rams fans. If this happens week 1 then retouch this subject. I don't see it happening. Focus on Super Bowl aspirations. I am.

Unless they did a behind the scenes deal that Stafford would stay another year as long as he didn’t have to do training camp. Which I would then question his dedication if that’s the case.

The Rams have always done “veteran days” but not even a 40 year old Andrew Whitworth was kept out for weeks at a time in training camp.
I dont think anyone said it was normal, but I dont think its anything serious and I know Matthew Stafford is one tough SOB. Once the season starts he will power through whatever is hurting on gameday.

I was not familiar with the Dr. Watkins that Stafford consulted with.
Damn . . . Some of you have heard of Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Dr. Robert Watkins III and his son ("IV") are the spine doc versions of those guys.

Football patients, including Peyton Manning (https://www.watkinsspine.com/football)
Baseball patients, including Clayton Kershaw (https://www.watkinsspine.com/baseball)
Basketball patients (https://www.watkinsspine.com/basketball)
Hockey patients, including Gretzky (https://www.watkinsspine.com/hockey)

IMO, someone like Stafford isn't going to get time (two visits!) with a super jock doc for something minor or for some aspirin. Stafford has a real deal issue and everyone should feel free to panic. It makes this place more interesting.

Did he have to have an MRI? if he did we may have to worry if not then rest should take care of it. He had this issue in 2021 also and came back strong. I will remain positive. If he can't go then it will be the G-man and Bennet sharing the plays this season. Its not the end of the world yet.

I won’t hit the panic button unless he’s listed as “out” on Week One’s injury list.

I've had back problems for 40 years after an injury back in the 80's. Yes, sitting too long does make it ache more. Getting out of bed in the mornings is tough. But when I start moving around it loosens up.
I’m the same way. Once I get moving…but it’s tough to put my socks on immediately after getting out of bed.
