I thought there were 4 preseason games. Honestly, I don't want to see Bennett at all in the regular season this year. But I would like to see him get better in the preseason and hopefully become an asset down the road.
There was until they added the 17th game. Coming soon, 18 regular season with either zero or 2 preseason games. If college doesn't use them professional shouldn't need to either.

Nothing like a doctor opining on a patient they have never examined personally, or seen any diagnostic imaging for.

I believe this will definitely be a season long issue. Very little practice during the week to rest and we do have a reason to be concerned, just not ready to panic yet. If anybody needs to panic about their QB situation go be a Bears fan. The reports out of Chitown are that Williams is a complete fucking mess. Probably out of the league in 3 years and will go down as one of the all-time great draft busts. Motherfucker can't hit receivers in red zone drills with no rush or defenders. Johnson COULDNT even play him the 1st preseason game because he knows what shit looks like. There Ram fans, Stafford hasn't been put on the PUP or IR so I have every reason to believe he will be lights out game 1. Morning of optimism.

I'm probably in the minority but I really believe this team can win and go far with a Garoppolo / Bennett combination with more focus on the running game and the front 7 on defense playing lights out.
Sooner or later, you have to make a big league throw. I have more faith in Bennet coming up with a clutch throw than g-string.
Maybe it’s just the unknown, but I HAVE seen g-string play. He throws the ball to the other team at least 3 times a game. If they catch them…

The Rams go as far as Stafford takes them.

Mixing metaphors.
Philly traded Kolb in the off season because they had Vick, and Seattle signed Flynn as a FA before drafting Wilson
Im not saying teams don’t make QB moves in the off season
It certainly happens. Jimmy himself was traded as a backup to SF, think it was a round 2 iirc. And the Cheatriots were the benefactor of others, notably Cassel which was before the Chiefs found Mahomes, and they gave up a round 1 pick due to their desperation.

We know this isn't likely, however with the proliferation of WCO coaches all over the league plus the annual injuries, having nice QB depth can be cashed in on.

Of course it isn't gonna happen now due to Stafford's status.

Did you watch Cousins play last year? He was pathetic, would hate to seem him in horns.
He was not even a year removed from being injured. Old farts, I know cuz I feel like one sometimes, take time to fully recover. I'd say give him the benefit of the doubt there, but I also don't think he's some sort of savior at QB. He's a starter in this league, unfortunately his age doesn't help though since I can imagine most teams would view him as a bridge QB.

Again, this is all false narrative.
Jimmy was traded, like Cassel because they were young starter material who played fantastic in relief, on the last year of their deal, and traded to a team with a new head coach who needed a QB.
Its comparing apples to a polar bear.
Nobody is chomping at the bit for a soon to be 34 year old, twice failed QB who happens to be in the best spot he could be in
He's not being traded regardless of Stafford's condition

Not the first time we've disagreed and won't be the last. I tend to keep an open mind on shit, you tend to throw absolutes around. I enjoy talking what-if scenarios. You enjoy shutting down what-if scenarios. And I am not observing this as a knock on you by any means, by the way. I usually enjoy the difference in perspectives, however in this case it's going to be a moot issue due to Stafford's status, so there's no real point in arguing it.

Going to be interesting to see how Stetson plays over the next couple games. Hopefully he lights it up.

You're stating a what if as though its factual
Stafford's health aside, there is no reason to think a team would trade for him currently
There's a whole series of "what ifs" that would need to occur before the idea would even be the remoteness of possibility
I hope Stetson keeps up the good play, but wouldnt be surprised if he has a set back

No point in extending this little back and forth. Let's agree to disagree.
