2021 - Stafford had a stable Oline and a good offense, and he lit it up.

2022 - Stafford has an Oline that's less stable than Roseanne on acid and pretty much the same offense because OBJ didn't really start to make a difference until we got into December. And he (meaning we) is stinking it up.

If only there was a way of knowing what was causing this massive drop-off.

Yes, he missed some passes yesterday (one of which was a TD) but, he certainly isn't the biggest problem. Its injuries period point blank. Imagine our line is Noteboom, Jackson, Allen, Bruss, Havenstein. Guess what? Stafford and the offense as a whole would be playing much better. I never thought I'd miss Edwards as much as I do

It's almost as if there is some sort of connection between OL play and QB play, with shitty OL play leading to shitty QB play ... ;)

No.

I don't like giving up on QBs after one bad season, and I'm not going to give up on a guy who won us a Super Bowl and was lights out in the playoffs, especially at crunch time. He has his issues to work on for sure, but there are also a lot of problems with the O that are out of his control.

If he sucks this bad in 2023, we can revisit, with the caveat that the problems around him have to be fixed too.
At this rate he'll probably be damaged goods by then.

Stafford had a crap game. I was screaming at the TV every time he short-armed a wide open target.

But, he made a few great throws as well, and he would be the third to last player on this team I would replace.

Stafford's been sacked 28 times.. third most in the league... doesn't have a running game or deep threat...
I'm hard on the guy for his turnovers.. but, nah.. this ain't on him.

Anybody cap savvy? If we need to move on from him after this terrible season what are the cap problems? Can we release him? Of course maybe he can rebound after this season and a reworking of the O line, but he looks just bad at this point.

The dude has zero running game and the line rarely gives him time to pass. Not to mention Robinson hasn't done a ton to help so it's pretty much Kupp or bust.
Has he been great? No, but if he had time and help this wouldn't be a conversation.

It will be a house cleaning that's for sure, but Stafford still has a couple of years left. I don't see him going anywhere.

That is just a dumb idea, the only way we move on is if the shity Oline gets him killed.

Actually Robinson was open a few times yesterday but I swear he had one eye on the guy opposite Evans and one eye on Kupp because he knew he was going to have to get rid of the ball fast and probably was hoping Kupp would get open in time.

I'd like us to at least start grooming a good prospect for when Stafford does retire.

He probably was but he only has 25 catches this year (not worth the contract). Either we're not trying to get him involved enough or?
But obviously if Stafford had more time to actually look form him lol. sigh

I would totally get rid of Stafford if it were possible.
And by "possible" I mean if we were getting Mahomes or Josh Allen to replace him
Other than that? No effing way

Time to play Harris. He has the speed and size to threaten a secondary. Time to rotate Robinson and Harris.

Until the offense can beat the blitz there is nothing to stop them from using it. But more importantly, the OL must prove it can stop the 4 guys normally coming. Replacing Evans with Jackson will go a long way in that regard.

If the Rams can't beat a down trodden Cardinal team things are going to unravel. McVay needs to find a way to fix the OL. It doesn't have to be a top unit. It simply needs to quit giving away easy sacks. Stafford has no trust in this OL any more than Goff trusted the 2019 version of the OL. The biggest hole is Evans. The easiest way is to replace him with Jackson. and let Nsekhe play LT. That will allow Allen to focus on helping Aboushi.
