You can not find fault with "some old chappy asshole" for letting you know to rake the trap. Just chalk it up to the lesson learned category.
One you learn the basics of golf etiquette it goes a lot more smoothly. Fix your divots in the greens. If you take a hack out of the fairway put it back and tap it down, don't flap your jaw while people are putting or taking their backswings and rake the traps after you get in one.
Golf is fantastic and the thing about it, you can never ,ever shoot a perfect round. Its not possible but its rewarding when you shoot low 80s or high 70s. Its not like bowling where you can bowl a 300, no comparison.
10-11 handicap about the best I ever got, used to play a LOT of golf. But it takes so much of your time if you want to be good at it. Need to play once a week or more just to keep your swing in shape.
I have too much to do right now but when I retire in a few years I will go back to playing lots of golf.
I never got a cart, I think they are lame. Walking a few miles is very good for you so if you can walk, walk. Just use one of those pull carts and you are good. It keeps you a lot more flexible, kinda tough to sit in a cart, jump out and make a great swing.
