Now we know why McVay waited til the final few mins to call that play.
If Stafford hits that in the 1st quarter, he's gonna tighten up on the sideline and be toast. Have to conserve Matthew for a full 4 quarters.

No doubt. Sometimes I think when he "scrambles" he's half considering the throw options instead of just committing. Though that said I don't want him running. If you want to preserve a QB for as long as possible removing run plays is a great start.

I don't think there's anyone better at that. Its something he's comfortable with. Been doing that for a long time.

I think he plays as long as his health allows him to play at a high level. Arm still has plenty of juice and while he’s not exactly mobile, he still moves around well enough in the pocket. And like you said, he *clearly* loves the game and his teammates.

I think as long as a Super Bowl is a possibility, he plays. We keep fielding good teams and we will have Stafford.

Which is great to be able to sit a rook for a year or two for continuous dominance

I agree. When he finally does retire (2 years?) still at the top of his game, hopefully, many people including some on this board, will realize how much time they spent flying like buzzards over his head while he was too busy soul snatching. :sunglasses:
