Passion and fire from Stafford! Hell yes!! A quality I’ve seldom if ever saw from Goff.

Whenever somebody says Stafford all I can think about is that shoulder coming out and him still playing

We will get a pick for Holmes, but not Ray right?
Really helpful article and set of clips. I love Stafford’s ability to change his delivery (wicked side-arm throws) and feel for the pocket. The off-balance throws are really impressive too.

One thing I noticed in a lot these clips that reminds me of our need to improve at C - I know these were just highlight clips but I didn’t see any clips where Stafford felt pressure up the middle. This seems to back up what another poster mentioned in another thread that the Lions OL was actually better than ours this year. Stafford looks good creating off-schedule plays and sensing the pressure from the outside... but this year we saw a lot of bull rushes overwhelming Blythe, leaving Goff with nowhere to step up from the outside pressure.

With that said, I’m really liking what I see.

No problem after we do some cap shuffle we will be signing the packers C Corey Linsley

Now Stafford has a fresh start...It only feels right that he changes his first name from Matthew to John. Could help dust off the funk from Detroit.

It's a good thing he didn't hate our ugly logos enough to stop him from coming here.

I had never seen it and that's maybe the most baller thing I've seen... up there with Youngblood playing with a broken leg and Terrell Owens playing weeks after surgery in the Super Bowl on his ankle and popping stitches and running with blood running down his sock...(he had to sign a waiver to play because no one would clear him medically to play)

But yeah, doing that... as a rookie... to realize that he could go in due to the time out... as he's on the floor with the med staff holding him down...

Maybe not the smartest thing, but freaking amazing nonetheless.

That was funny, but it's not what he was saying.

He was chastising his WR for not getting out of bounds as they were driving very late in the 4th Q. I think it was Marvin Jones' rookie year. He fell down and allowed the opposing CB to stop his progress inches from the boundary, so the clock kept running.

Tremendous situational awareness.

As Marvin Jones came back to the huddle (I think they had to burn their last TO, iirc), Stafford embraced him.

Tremendous leadership.
That is exactly right. Good shit.

What impresses me (other than everything about him) is how quickly he can reset his feet and throw darts, and the different angles and trajectories.

Don't agree with Skip Bayless much, but I love the fact that he just said
the Rams have acquired a "Sleeping Giant"

Stafford has had a top ten defense once in his career. Over the last 6 years the lions have averaged
89 yards rushing per game.
In 12 seasons with the Lions Stafford has had a back to break 100yds rushing
in a game only 12 times.

In Stafford's 3 postseason losses the lions gave up an average of 31.7 points per game

Stafford is also pretty great great at no-look passes, which Aaron Rodgers recently commented about..

I know in one of the clips on this thread, he threw a TD pass while looking directly
at the receiver to the right of his target. he never took his eyes off of the decoy.
All the way through the follow through he is looking at the decoy.
My reaction was Holy shit, that's badass.

Found it. courtesy of @

I saw that as well and usually hate his takes but I absolutely got jacked even more after hearing that
