I presume so. He barely agreed to play last year with us, according to rumors needing to eject everyone but him and McVay to come to an understanding. Which I don't think included a pay raise. So makes sense that after the MVP season that's the plan.
Makes sense. The rams did mention a year to year thing.

And yet he still had the chance to give the Rams the lead with a couple of minutes to go in the championship game but couldn't get the ball into the endzone.

Three years in a row.
I completely agree, with your it's a 'Team Game' point ... and I do not think Stafford has been perfect. However, in all ten post-season games has has played in as a Ram, I think he has been exceptional.

I don't disagree but for some reason the offense can't get it done in the red zone in the last couple of minutes in each playoff loss.

And, I do not disagree with the above statement. Hell, it's Factually Accurate.

However, I think about those three playoff losses ... More than any normal person would or should!

In Detroit (2023), I think there was contact and defensive interference on that third-down pass to Nacua.
The Rams punted on 4th-and-long and backed-up the Lions to their 13-yard-line but the Defense failed.

In Philadelphia (2024), Limmer and Dotson had a huge Brain Fart on a play that was an easy 1st down and maybe a touchdown. Once again, the Defense failed that day.

In Seattle (2025), the Best Defense in the NFL stopped the Best Offense in the NFL at the most crucial time.
However, the Rams' Defense subsequently failed to get a stop.

All, I am saying is that I could not have asked much more from Stafford and the Entire Rams' Offense in those three games (except ... maybe ... for Limmer and Dotson to ... at least ... TRY to block Jalen Carter). Whereas, the Defense failed in each of those games.

I dunno where this convo started, but I've been thinking about how great the rams might be if they full on invest in the defense. Another corner with inside/outside flexibility like Mcduffie or a legit inside linebacker to go next to Landman. Maybe even both. Like the 2020 Defense, but with better overall offense to go with it. Imagine a Mcvay offense you can't stop with a Defense you can't score on.

Maybe ...
but in order to 'fully invest in the defense' that requires allocating resources (draft picks and salary cap) ... and those are limited. I would love for the Defense to be stronger (and love the additions at CB) but I also think the Rams are Razor-thin at WR and OT, with no viable back-up-QB (at the moment).
